@SheilaB: I'm getting hungry! (Great show Friday!) Hi, Melinda and Michele and Polyus! Doesn't "Electric Mainline" sound very reminiscent of "Brown Rice" or is that just me?
Enjoying the show, Joe. Heard strains of a song I recognized but couldn't place in this Spiritualized piece, but googled the title and ... Laurie Anderson. Like both now!
i sit on pets regularly, they squirm a lot, but they get used to it. this gang is two middle-aged cats and 2 yappy shi-tzu. i'll never get used to the p-pads people use for their little dogs.
you just have to know where the cushions in the couch are; push 'em down into the crevice. and put treats down there, they stay still for an hour or so.
Thanks for the advice @Whosonthephone. Take my wife, please.

This weekend I learned of you ever feel like crawling into a hole and dying, just crawl in that hole and take a nap. Then get out of the house and eat something nice.
Joe, played American Gothic the other day. Probably because I saw the picture by Grant Wood for the first time over here recently. Man, I love that song.

never thought to play the two versions back to back! good call
Joe, unless he self-released there were no takers. Today that would be an option. Jac Holzman gave him a fair shot. Being a critics' favourite does not feed the family.
Any track from the mid Fifties Sinatra albums would cover this hurt.
Great set, Joe.

A very pleasant show this morning. This is some procession of crooners in this set.

@doctorjazz: It was! Not huge, maybe a dozen vendors, but prices were l-o-w, and I brought home stacks of LPs and CDs. (Only one turned out to dupe my collection.) Purchased my first Jethro Tull record, "Thick As a Brick," with the elaborate newspaper cover. (Never liked Tull. This went on for decades until last year, when I decided I do like Tull.)
@Jeff: "(What a) Wonderful World." Didn't realize there was another version! But (WA)WW does feel out of place.
That Rolling Stone bit is fascinating. One of the virtures of (WA)WW, I have to say, is the background vocal work of Simon and Taylor. And I'm no Simon fan.
