Just based on that one track, I'm buying a ticket for the Aldous Harding show in Allston this Wednesday. Pray for me to be able to stay awake till after 9:30. They don't think of old people when they schedule these shows.

@ twf: i feel the same way, by the time a show starts, i'd rather be back at home sitting in bed with a book. all the fun things i think i want to do fall in favor of the comfy bed and soft light.
Avatar 7:06am
testingwithfire:

@annie: my feelings exactly. I'm booking a B&B in Allston so at least I won't have to schlep all the way back up to the North Shore that night.

That's one creepy musicbox sound. Love it!

Enjoying the avant-garde excursion. I'm working my way through a challenging crossword, so this is an apt soundtrack.

annie:

that's about the only good thing left in that paper, howard. i still mourn the loss of the FLUP
Avatar 7:37am
Howard F:

Apparently, it's one of the few profitable areas for the NY Times. Not sure I'm famaliar with FLUP?
Avatar 7:50am
annie:

i'm not even clear on whan the FLUP was discontinued, it was its own header, The Follow-up on the news reported the previous week, covering what might have been buried by other events. we affectionately called it the "flup"... the grey lady ain't what she used to be, that's for sure.
Avatar 7:53am
Howard F:

Ahh, gotcha.
Avatar 7:56am
annie:

yeah, i'm old.. been reading the NYT since i was 12 or so..they had a great celestial events section, too on the same page as the weather map..
Avatar 8:18am
annie:

for those of you who like fantasy/science fiction-type stories i suggest "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. it's quite good. apparently the first book in a series.. i can see someone grabbing this up for movie rights..
