Does WFMU have a way of gauging how many people are listening (at least online)? What's an average number? I mean some of the best curated music on Earth--Just asking.

Hi all, just turned off Jonathan Schwartz. For NZ lovers, the Chills played Terry Hall (Montgomery Is too long) last year and as Roger Shepherd is coming to Brian Turner's(?) show, note that Martin Phillipps does 2.30pm show at Pianos tomw. It's a 2-4pm event and RS will dj.

Dogs are good for potentially catching tennis balls, if you have these. Cats are great for getting ignored, if you're into that. Some genetically freaky cats are gratuitously cuddly.

I have a tuxedo cat, Natalie Lewinsky. Gotten from NY-Pet-I-Care, a group i volunteer with. But I love dogs as well. Note- Broadway Barks dog/cat adoption event in times sq, sat July 8. I be there. (I prob mentioned this before, but Michael Cerveris was a speaker 1 year. He Introduced an Australian dog up for adoption, said "he pees in reverse. you really hafta see it.". Haha.) Poor Jub Jub.

the yippie needs lots of cats so the cat pee hides the weed smell

Beatles are great. Dogs are too obsequious to their human overlords. I can't respect that.

ἶἶkε:

Cats are superior. Some may be snooty jerks who ignore you but that's NOT all of them. Like any individuals, different ones have different personalities and most are nice. You don't need to walk 'em; you can leave 'em alone for hours and hours (some for days), b/c they're independent, like AMERICA!

Some dogs are okay, but some of them (esp. the little ones) are WHINY BASTARDS w/inferiority complexes who pick fights all the time! And there's a LOT of those. That's worse than a cat that ignores you.

I mighta posted this already- from Alex Shakar novel (forgot title; his debut I think), "people get dogs to receive the love their children never gave them. People get cats to show them the love they could never give to their parents.".
  9:52pm
DryEraser:

The evolutionary relationship between dogs and humans seems symbiotic. The relationship between cats and humans seems more a matter of indifference or mere tolerance (common enemy or resource being mice or rats)

Anybody who thinks cats are cold and indifferent are ignorant parrots. Cats are super-lovers. That said, they are both equally great. 14/10.

cats are expendable. they care about you as much as a hamster or a squirrel.
i like cats because i respect them; but not any more than i respect snakes or fish or other animals that use you for what they can but don't give a fuck about you.

This anti-cat propaganda is dumb. Cats are very affectionate. Anybody who parrots the "cats don't care" line are either ignorant or copycats who are no different than talk radio sycophants. MEga Dittoes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm

cats are affectionate solely to get what they want. many dogs are the same way...and many people as well.

Not true. My Basilbaby and Sheldon are chock full of unconditional love. I can call Basil and he will run from the other side of the house just to be next to me.

I can't believe it is 2017 and people still have the same dated cat stereotypes from decades ago. Cats are people.

i used to work for a guy who, like many american boys was made even more insecure by the british invasion, so - by default bigotry hated the beatles. he once said they couldn't play their instruments. imagine that! a band that made it by working it's way up through the bars and clubs being accused of not being able to play!

cats are crazy athletic. they're used in martial arts as an example of totally relaxed muscles until the moment those muscles are needed in action. they (not house cats) may be the pinnacle of hunting mammal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm
coelacanth∅:

cats vs. dogs is a very vague topic, after all. cats are cold and calculating, and they really don't give a shit about you.
dogs are suckers and are so loyal and trusting that they'll repeatedly believe the worst assholes to their own demise. of course this is why dogs are a person's best friend.
