Hey Everybody! Wanna know a secret? Fabio's theme song, "Mr Giant Man," by James Last, is THE MOST FAVORITED song on WFMU, Period. But now other DJs like Matt Warwick want to knock this classic off its pedestal. You must prevent this. If you have not already favorited :Mr Giant Man," DO IT NOW! Just click the star next to "Voodoo Party" over there to the left. Dont let James Last become a second class German novelty act.

those new Buchlas are kind of a joke lately, even though they still sound unique. there's not much justification for the price besides the legend people associate with them. there was a great full length synthesizer doc recently and probably the best quote in it was the guy who said that Buchla could shit in a bag and sell that for hundreds of dollars.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm
ⓘⓚⓔ:

I love it but it's so glacial. The original was a fascinating melding of Lynch with fun mainstream soap, and this is just pure Lynchland, all of his obsessions and movies in a melting pot. Both versions are great but this takes some getting used to. (***vague spoilers***) Is you-know-who's storyline an everyday horror story about getting senile and aphasic while nobody around you notices and you just get pushed around from one thing to the next? Horrifying! Will our hero ever recover from the other place?

Have y'all heard "Sorrow" - Colin Stetson's reimagining of Gorecki's 3rd Symphony?

I totally recommend settling in to listen to it when you have time to enjoy the whole thing.

It's done in deep, dark horns with metal-style drumming underpinning a powerful swelling part. Really grabs you. Kind of makes the original orchestration feel a little lightweight.
