	7:22am Revolution Rabbit Nov63: There is something satisfying - & intriguing - about regional no-hit wonders that really do have something to offer. & even the glaringly unprofessional things maybe have that charm of a scene one might actually have known - like audio yearbooks or snaps; it takes it to your neighborhood...60s have more plangent resonance for me, but 70s are certainly a very long time ago...

	7:29am Nate K.: @Revo, great take. I agree. I also enjoy the notion that on some level, for a lot of these artists, the idea that maybe, just maybe, they'd have a hit and be rich and famous was always a motivating factor.
	7:30am fred: In a way the regional thing even holds in a place as small and centralized as France. I wouldn't have thought it would years ago, but the Bordeaux scene, the eastern one, and others are strong and important. Though it's often actually a few people

	7:36am fred: @Nate: mainly around the Potagers Nature label, bands like Api Uiz, Chocolat Billy, Radical Satan (noise/DIY/pop/rock weirdness), but also quiet elaborate stuff like L'Ocelle Mare. As often, it was more about people coming of age at the same time when there was a space for them to meet, play, and evolve

FOR REAL THIS TIME! With a mind-boggling combination of talent and a rock-and-roll pedigree that will leave your jaw on the floor, the members of the Hard Quartet likely need no introduction. But for the sake of due diligence, the band features Stephen Malkmus (Pavement, etc.), Matt Sweeney (Chavez, etc.), Jim White (The Dirty Three, etc.), and Emmet Kelly (Will Oldham, Ty Segall, etc.). We think that's all the info you need. They deliver a short set for BURN IT DOWN! on Friday, November 8.
