Oceans are like overrated pop music- the Atlantic is akin to Justin Timberlake- huge and everybody knows it. Lakes on the other hand are like underground music- some are huge like Superior, but only known by smart people like The Clash while others are tiny and obscure. Afterbirth for example is Tawas Lake.

I've had lots of fun on lakes: water skiing Lake Vermillion, MN and canoeing Snowbank Lake, etc., in the Boundary Waters, and others. It was pretty cool to step onto the beach in California and hear the roar of the ocean at night. I'm going with lakes tonight.

tomayto tomahto. nice discussion tonight. i will say that the one things my beautiful lakes do not have are sweet, delicious oysters the size of you fist. the gulf was not bad last time i visited. still prefer lakes though. ;-)
