I think this may one up that Robbins party dad song from last week for discomfort.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:08pm ultradamno:

Not that I don't love it.
  8:09pm Dion Chalksee:

Where did you go in Flint? I'm a native.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Becky:

Haha, I think it's probably a bit of role playing........awkward
  8:10pm KP:

Hi, Becky
  8:11pm JakeGould:

Oh, Jimmy Minor… You are really making this humpday cheery!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm Becky:

@Dion: Musical Memories!
  8:12pm A.T.F.:

This song is dark...but real..
  8:15pm Dion Chalksee:

Oh boy. pete Flanders is a total scumbag. He purchased 1000+ of my friends punk, noise, and hip hop records. My pal went to the store and noticed his name on the crates and even in a few albums. pete said he could have the crates and records with his name on them but the rest he would have to buy back. The cops refused to help.
He is also notorious for bootlegging 60 garage bands on CD.
  8:15pm P-90:

Howdy Becky and Tonkers! Lovin' this...
  8:15pm A.T.F.:

  8:16pm Dion Chalksee:

Sorry to be a downer, but Flanders is a total pos. To this day he keeps most of my friends records in a back room.
  8:16pm Dion Chalksee:

Did you buy any Wade Mainer/Old Homestead stuff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm Becky:

@Dion: Well, he talked some stuff about people I know, too...all I know is I got some decent country records that probably no one else wanted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm dale:

hi becky - love that ferlin husky. one of the perviest songs ever written!
  8:18pm Dion Chalksee:

There was a rumor that he knew a storage space burglar that sells him all sorts of collectibles both music and non music related.
  8:18pm Dion Chalksee:

What made you travel to Flint?
  8:19pm JakeGould:

Dion, I speak for myself but this inside baseball seems a bit much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm Becky:

@Dion: Was driving from Traverse City to Detroit.
  8:20pm A.T.F.:

Up here in delaware co.ny you can buy lots of 33s for 50 cents each
  8:21pm andewb:

i scored a bunch of british decca stones singles from a friend many years ago, Interestingly they are substantially louder than any other records I have. Never fully understood why, cut deeper maybe
  8:23pm Dion Chalksee:

Sorry, but when I heard Flint my ears pricked up. My pal and I came up together and have been collecting records for 30 years. WFMU has alot of record collector listeners. Becky of course had no idea, but let this be a word of caution- pete Flanders Musical Memories is a shitty operation.
  8:23pm P-90:

I ever catch new a storage space burglar, I'll string him up from the nearest tree like a no-good thievin'' fox
  8:23pm A.T.F.:

andwb did you get covers with em??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm Becky:

@Dion: Any above board Flint recommendations?
  8:25pm P-90:

Er..."I catch ME a storage space burglar", that is.
Not too fond of autocomplete, either
Avatar 8:26pm ledzeppelinsucks:

OR, United States

and polluted air
  8:27pm Dion Chalksee:

Jellybeans was basically across the street, but it may have closed. Rarebird carried most of the Old Homestead catalog but it closed. Wyatt Earp was the birthplace of death metal, but it closed.

All 6 schools I attended are closed and 3 of the 4 houses I lived in are no longer there. Sadly, Flint is closed for the most part.
  8:28pm A.T.F.:

63 degrees fresh air and i cant hear my neighbors dogs howling....
Avatar 8:29pm ledzeppelinsucks:

what is worse, the John Cash middle finger or the Jim Page bow on the two neck?
  8:29pm Dion Chalksee:

There is a new place called Totem Records, but I haven't visited it.
  8:30pm Dion Chalksee:

IF you ever go back to TC be sure to listen to Ben Hamper's Head For The Hills show on the college station up there.
  8:30pm andewb:

@atf , nope.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm dale:

crumbs of love from strangers. that lady has reached bottom!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm dale:

....and what a fuzzy scratchy bottom it is.
  8:36pm JakeGould:

@dale: Language!
  8:37pm A.T.F.:

Avatar 8:37pm Parq:

Great songs this week, Becky! Not that they aren't always, but this is real singalong stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm Becky:

C'mon, everyone loves a spectacularly bad record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38pm dale:

(hangs head in shame)
  8:38pm Dion Chalksee:

Sorry Becky, your show is always excellent. My heat is directed soley at Pete Flanders. He should be on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List. He probably dumpstered the super rare Flint hip hop tapes from the 80s the storage space burglar brought in.
  8:38pm JakeGould:

This is so bad it’s beautiful! I wanna hug them all!
  8:39pm A.T.F.:

As long as it does not skip and i can get to the eq..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm dale:

pleasant view valley sound like and old age home.
  8:39pm JakeGould:

I don’t donate to WFMU to hear quality!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm Becky:

@Jake: You're one of us, for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm dale:

betsy brye sounds like connie stevens!!
  8:41pm Dion Chalksee:

If you pass through Fenton ask around about Old Homestead Records, there was a guy involved with that label still selling country, bluegrass, hillbilly etc records a few years back. He might still be around.
  8:41pm andewb:

i didn't hear anything wrong with the walker record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm dale:

puttin' the cornpooter to bed. good show becky. g'night folks.
  8:44pm Mike tp:

Becky thanks for celebrating great music!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm Tome:

Hi Becky ! wonderful stuff !
  8:49pm johnk77:

great selecting @becky
  8:49pm KP:

Ever hear Ray Davis out of AMU in D.C. He was all bluegrass and much of it was what he called "plum pitiful." This set is reminiscent of Ray.
  8:53pm JakeGould:

Geez… She just wants to say “Harper Valley PTA” so badly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm Becky:

boy, that was fun
  8:56pm andewb:

man, what a show
  8:56pm A.T.F.:

Great tunes as always best hour of the week , you need a 3 hour slot..
  9:00pm Drunken Creep:

An excellent hour!
