That's a seriously boring cover for the Tenores di Bitti record. Or am I missing something, here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25am

Sem, as soon as I remember where I left my teeth or anyone's for that matter I will be there.

Brian, last weekend I was mixing at the local two day festival, Kontufolk. I also did some recording on my own but I gotta rehearse more. Ive forgotten how my songs go. I spent a night on an island and been on my friends boat. Today I might go rowing. Its a cool summers day.

Sem Chumbo:

Interesting juxtaposition between Doors and The Guess Who, contemporaneous bands, era-wise. Don't recall hearing the Nashville Sneakers tune ever on AM Canadian radio.
Avatar 7:36am
Bill Mac:

This particular Guess Who album was a sleeper, but it's my favorite.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37am
Uncle Michael:

Bill, you wacky cat. Did I really just wake up to a Doors/Guess Who comparison...or was I still dreaming?
Avatar 7:38am
Bill Mac:

@UM Not a dream my friend. I've been up for almost 6 hours so there is no excuse. Wasn't a Doors fan so much, but I do find I like most of what I hear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
fred:

I haven't seen The Ex in a while, but I absolutely endorse De Boer. It took him a year or two to find his footing, but he belongs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am
Uncle Michael:

I always have, and still do love the Guess Who. Of course, they ultimately jumped the shark pretty hard but what can you do?
Avatar 7:43am
Bill Mac:

@Fred He's pretty enthusiastic performer. caught him in Philly on the last tour. There's video of them playing here. Well worth looking for it out in websville.
Avatar 7:44am
Bill Mac:

UM Me too Mike, they were the first band I found myself looking for on the radio after the Beatles and the Stones.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49am

Like the way the Al Kooper organ drones in the bg, pretty melody, tasty simple arrangement. Thanks for this one, Bill

Good morning, Bill. I just looked online for El Masyreen Band and found the "Bahebek La" album/song, but the song doesn't sound anything like what you played--no conga drums or female voice/s at all. Is your playlist incorrect in the song's name? Please help! Nice playlist today!

Stanley: awesome link. Ten hours of 96Htz drone, and one million nine hundred thousand views. This is a world I no longer understand.
Avatar 8:18am
Bill Mac:

@Sem You mean you use to understand it?
Avatar 8:21am
Bill Mac:

This just gave me a bad idea.... On the off chance we all have three hours of free time simultaneous, I propose an fully interactive - I play something, you play something in reply.... it would be a full on three hours of riffing on each others reaction to whatever is playing/listening.

I now await the sound of crickets
Avatar 8:22am
Bill Mac:

I guess you would post something rather than reply or play something back...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am
Sem Chumbo:

You are of course correct, BM.

www.bbc.co.uk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am
Stanley:

I think that is a great idea, Bill.
I used to do just that with a colleague when we were alone in the office. Something along the lines of 'I'll raise your Cramps track with this by The Fiend etc'
Like poker until the other goes 'bust'
Too many rules, I know but you get the gist.
Avatar 8:30am
Bill Mac:

I can always depend on you two nutters...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31am

'Cricket, lovely cricket'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am
Brian in UK:

That ice breaker reminds me of Steve McQueen in The Sandpebbles for some reason. He was in the engine room drifting up the Yangtze.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am
Stanley:

For instance the above song by Lord Beginner would be known as being bowled a 'googly'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am
Brian in UK:

Depends if you are bowling to a left or right hander. If left hander there will be more rough for the spinner to bowl into from the footmarks left by other bowlers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37am
Guido from Cologne:

Still here and listening, but doing the cleaning and finally ... yes, relaxing.
Loved the show so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am
Sem Chumbo:

Loved the book,. BiUK. Claustrophobic under-decks atmosphere, and plenty of Chinese/American mutual bigotry Naturally, anything w/ SMcQ in it is by definition laudable..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41am
Stanley:

Steve McQ - agreed.
Hey Guido, me too. Kitchen and Khazi, both done to a shine and an overall smell of piney freshness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42am
Brian in UK:

Bill, we went to see The Big Sick the other night. Good film based on a true story. Hate the term Rom-Com but it does have elements of that.

Sem, the film adaptation is OK. I lost all hope in film after reading Von Ryans Express and he escapes on the train. In the film starring Frank Sinatra, he is killed in the final scene. To a thirteen year old this was impossible to conceive. Oh Hollywood.
Avatar 8:44am
Bill Mac:

This is just what i'm talking about. You guys always have some kind of usable information

mmmmm piney freshness....

Piney freshness, my arse.
