Then I giant pick up truck pulled right up to me (as though about to run me over on the sidewalk). I then realized, people don't walk here.... and oh my, they think I'm a "street walker!"

	12:21pm northguineahills: When I was visiting my parents, I would walk 500m to the grocery store everyday to pick up stuff (like I'm used to in NYC), and by the third day the cashiers started asking me questions as if I was homeless or something (I suppose those on break saw me walking).

	12:43pm annie: yes, ngh, i can commiserate, my legs tire out and i have to sit. i'm still mentally arranging the one room i have here. and i have no real view to speak of, so much for my morning light. the bulk of my boxes and luggage was the sewing kit, which has been stashed in the closet for now. my joy will be to unpack and re-sort all the fabrics and notions. are you still in fla, ngh?
	♥ 12:51pm Ike: My workplace is moving, which is a lot easier than moving my home, and others are doing most of the work, but I still loathe, dread, and despise the process. It throws everything into chaos.
	12:52pm northguineahills: My kitchen should be done by tonight. I have a view of a wooded area w/ vines, ferns, and flowers and large trees in my front yard, and only a 10 minute walk to the downtown. I have to retetris my boxes so I can find room to put together my shelves so I can put my recs and hi-fi somewhere. Still using my smaller speakers right now.

I think I would donate chunks of that across cool places. Then I would like to own land and a home somewhere cool and away from NYC bullshit. Like a nice goat farm or something. That’s about it.

One thing I've been thinking about for a long time is alterna-assisted living places/housing for my generation (young boomers). If I had money I'd establish some that weren't glum. Or expensive. Pets welcome and encouraged. Probably have to be shared pets.

	1:09pm geezerette: I'd want to find a way to use a chunk for housing or education here. There are nearly 50,000 homeless people in L.A.now. Moving to Santa Fe is a fantasy but probably I'd get a proper studio again and travel.
	♥ 1:09pm Meghan: It was decent. I had avoided going there by name alone, but we had to grab something before hitting the airport and we were right there. Everything we read said it was actually a good place to eat, so we did. It was your typical Thai food. Good but not amazing

	1:19pm annie: if one were to put together a "retirement" housing set-up, i like the idea of a common square with satellite housing/apartments of all types. that place outside of DC to the north(?) is an idea i like. it started with retirement homes and spread to apartments and then adult-care facilities. it's an ok idea, but i like to think it should contain all generations, not just the 0ver-55 crowd.
	1:21pm annie: this apartment bldg i'm in is for the over 64 crowd, yet there are people of all ages wandering about. and beng in the heart of the city isn't so shabby either. ...

	1:25pm Parq: Okay, that settles it. If I had that money, I would buy Meghan $43 million worth of black licorice. After all the enjoyment she's given me, it's the least I could do.

	1:33pm geezerette: The one I went to forgot to talk about reality. The only post art school possibility mentioned was to immediately become an adjunct with no experience and spread the problem.

	1:40pm northguineahills: I would create a music venue where I would encourage music of all genres, and I wouldn't have to worry about a profit, so no shitty compromising music. I would also donate to many music/arts collectives and charities, as well countless other charities (ie: Medicines Sans Frontiers) Off to lunch, thanks Meghan, now I want salty licorice!
	1:40pm annie: my winnings would go to support radio stations i love. and i'd buy my kid and his girl a new car and new movie-making equipment. and i'd find tons of my favorite non-profits to help out. no strings on any of those donations at all, either. and if my son wants me to buy the house back from the bank, i'd do that.... oh the places i'd go!! i'd go to iceland by boat, the small steamer boats, not the big liners.

	1:43pm βrian: Far out. We're gradually removing our lawn. The first big chunk of the front yard became a vegetable garden. The next one went to cedar mulch and ground cover plants like thyme.
	1:43pm geezerette: art schools here are all about marketing now. What they skip now is how to make stuff. "Applied" art sounds like "occupational art", with Bedazzlers.

	1:19pm annie: if one were to put together a "retirement" housing set-up, i like the idea of a common square with satellite housing/apartments of all types. that place outside of DC to the north(?) is an idea i like. it started with retirement homes and spread to apartments and then adult-care facilities. it's an ok idea, but i like to think it should contain all generations, not just the 0ver-55 crowd.

	1:40pm annie: my winnings would go to support radio stations i love. and i'd buy my kid and his girl a new car and new movie-making equipment. and i'd find tons of my favorite non-profits to help out. no strings on any of those donations at all, either. and if my son wants me to buy the house back from the bank, i'd do that.... oh the places i'd go!! i'd go to iceland by boat, the small steamer boats, not the big liners.
