Avatar 9:16pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

BrownwynB: I apologize for the gay raids and the racism. I'm dead now, and it's so weird. I have my statue by the municipal building and they are thinking about taking it down. Should they?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Zats, I haven't been to Seattle in like thirty years. I need to build up a travel budget.
Avatar 9:19pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Ken from Hyde Park: Bumbershoot years ago. I played a harp on the Space Needle and saw multiple members of the Shins trade bands. And this sounds like Swervedriver.
Avatar 9:20pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm BronwynB:

They probably should, Frank, they probably should. What's the afterlife like?
Avatar 9:21pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

I hang out with members of MOVE. They are super cool. Especially the dogs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm Switchblade Batman:

Nailed it Therese, one of the best Cure songs IMO
  9:21pm Madman Muntz:

Ken from Hyde Park. Better hurry up and get over here before it rains. I hope you like construction. The whole place from Yesler Way to Valley Street is tore up from the floor up.
Avatar 9:22pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

No offense. No offense. F(o)king Philly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm Therese:

Agreed, @Switchblade Batman.
  9:24pm Madman Muntz:

Mayor, I thought MOVE had relocated to under the viaduct.
Avatar 9:25pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Madam Muntz: getting away from Mayor Frank, I was going to ask you about your Seattle viaduct. Is that thing still happening? Seattle's Big Dig? Ugh. Talk about cranes...
  9:26pm sugarwolf:

Avatar 9:27pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Hell-o sugarwolf, best name in the world...
  9:27pm Madman Muntz:

Mayor, the viaduct is still there. The mud tunnel is done but they have to put stuff in it, like a road etc. Then the viaduct goes down. A couple of years or so or next century, whichever works best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm common:

Kitchens! Thanks!
  9:39pm lothianman:

Now THAT was a cool cut !! Makes me reminisce on the time when inner happiness meant more than the simple materialistic status symbols you see now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Richard S:

We're ROCKIN' tonight!
Avatar 9:43pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Can we get some praise for the DJ please?
  9:43pm Madman Muntz:

lothianman, Wilson Pickett rules. I don't think he ever recorded a dud.
Avatar 9:46pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Larry Ferrari - BronwynB
  9:48pm lothianman:

agreed on Wilson........thanks for the clarification !! :) can you point me to the best?

  9:48pm Madman Muntz:

Mayor, you're showing your age; I guess you'd be about 97 now. I still tell people about what you said about the "f***in' rock."
Avatar 9:50pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

I'm 139 years old. What did I say about the f***in' rock? I'm daft.
Avatar 9:51pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

It's my birthday tomorrow. I'll be 143, because when you reach my age, you take on partial dog years. Any Yes or Rundgren? Are they alive?
Avatar 9:54pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Fucking Dexter...Norfolk. We don't drink, we don't smoke, Norfolk, Norfolk...
(you'll get this is you know how to pronounce Norfolk correctly).
  9:55pm Madman Muntz:

If I had some albums, I'd have a better list, but my faves are "In The Midnight Hour," "You're Looking Good," "6345789," "Mustang Sally."
Mayor, the rock was in front of the Police Administration Building, if I remember right. It's mentioned in this book https://www.amazon.com/Cop-Who-Would-King-Honorable/dp/0316095214 as an example of Hizzoner's opinion of set-aside art.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm BronwynB:

haha i stepped away for a moment but i enjoyed the MOVE reference. poor move folks. damn incendiary devices.
  9:57pm Madman Muntz:

BronwynB from WXPN (if I remember right)??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm BronwynB:

  9:58pm ice in Bklyn:

I'm not sure why no one is playing Shilpa Ray..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm BronwynB:

Madman, are you asking if I'm from xpn, or MOVE? i am not part of xpn but i grew up listening to it and i met michaela majoun once and she told me she liked my earrings and i died
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm BronwynB:

i listened to xpn every day from the time i was in the womb until i switched abruptly, and entirely, to fmu when i was 17. i should listen to xpn again sometime just for old times sake.
  10:00pm lothianman:

thanks Madman......haven't heard "You're looking good" will check out !! much appreciated !! it has indeed been a hard days night !!
Avatar 10:00pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Wilson Goode. And Mayor Frank said of the sculpture (off the top of my head): It looks like someone dumped a pile of concrete. David ?Dye. Karen Heller. "Doves are flying out from all over me. I raise my arms, they fly out of my armpits. I'm only interested in worrying about the city." - Rizzo, Inquirer 3-31-74
  10:03pm Madman Muntz:

Mayor, you might have it right about the Police Administration Building. I remember that quote too. But the rock was somewhere over there. It's all in the book. I read it the first six months in town when I lived at Winona and Tacoma.
Avatar 10:04pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Winona and Tocoma should be the name of a Seattle band.
  10:09pm ice in Bklyn:

There's plays what she wants
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Richard S:

I read the Post today, hoo boy.....!
  10:10pm Madman Muntz:

BronwynB, thanks for getting my memories fixed. I spent my whole time in Philly listening to WXPN; Mary Armstrong, Blues Show, Sunnyside. They introduced me to Barbecue Bob, Son House, Martin Carthy, Son Ford Thomas (his promo "what is this number is again? WXPN, Philadelphia." I still have an air check cassette of the Blues Show with Howlin' Wolf, Pigmeat Terry, Barbecue Bob, Leadbelly, Mooch Richardson.

I dunno what it means, but both Twin Peaks s03 and "A Day in the Life" alternate between periods of narrative and periods of reverie. And both would love to turn you on.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Switchblade Batman:

It's definately something LIKE that. I only had a glimpse of it (I was moving and there were cars behind me) The style looked like a Toynbee tile, but the wording I can't give you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Switchblade Batman:

But thanks for the link I really wanted to watch that doc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Switchblade Batman:

I would have instagrammed it if I could have.
Avatar 10:59pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

I will personally recommend the doc. Good rainy afternoon viewing about a couple guy's obsession. Long live Sevy. The Philly accents along are worth it. A worthy view, and kind of sad when you think about it. Praise Therese!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm Switchblade Batman:

THis is another I spotted in the same area a few years ago.
Avatar 11:05pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

This is all Therese's fault: First song: Out on the Tiles. All I need from you, is all your love...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm Switchblade Batman:

I heart philly though, I think about pulling stakes and going there every so often
Avatar 11:06pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

I'm in MA but still miss Philly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm Switchblade Batman:

Philly reminds me of Brooklyn, when it was a real place. Before turned to an amusement park for trust fund kids.
Avatar 11:08pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

F Brooklyn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm Switchblade Batman:

As a native of BK, I wanna kick your ass for that. Also as a native of BK I have to nod sadly to that.

The magic has been bought and sold.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Great tunes tonight, Therese. I'm baking cookies for a picnic tomorrow. Ran out of stick butter, but I have some in a tub that I usually put on toast.
Avatar 11:12pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

It's gone. Parts of real Philly dying too. They shuttered Little Pete's for god's sake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm Switchblade Batman:

I'm not sure what Little Pete's is, but I'm guessing that that's not good.
  11:17pm Madman Muntz:

Well, if the Victor Cafe, the Mario Lanza Museum, and Strolli's are still there, all is not lost.
Avatar 11:23pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Therese must hate Philly by now.
Avatar 11:24pm Mayor Frank Rizzo:

Shutting up. Thanks Master T. Good night all. Find a Toynbee Tile.
