Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from September 15, 2017 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

at one point, Nitsch was looking for the 4th BLOOORNG board, but it wasn't in the little tray where the BLORRRNG boards go, but someone in the first row spotted one in the corner and he grabbed it and put it in the BLORRRRNG tray and the Nitsch used it for BLORRRRRNGing.

My grandmother had a console organ like that, with those dip switches for the different voices. It also had this amazing thing called an glissando/arpeggio bar. A row of small rounded buttons on the console that you could run your finger over to make a glissando (in glissando mode) or in arpeggio mode, you could hold some keys on the keyboard, then only those tones would sound when you ran your finger. I think it was a Thomas. I should ask my mom what happened to it.

Last week a client was in my office waiting for me while your show was on. I never made it back to meet him, but he e-mailed me later to say he had scanned the whole room looking for my aquarium but couldn't find it, and was perplexed because he was sure he heard one. I don't have an aquarium. He was here for twenty minutes and never realized it was my computer speakers. What were you playing that sounded so convincingly like an aquarium as to totally freak out a responsible adult? An actual client no less!

i'm sure i've dropped this anecdote before, but a friend of mine was on the highway once, and had to quickly pull his car into the shoulder, as it was doing something very bad. after coming to a complete stop, the noise persisted as he raised his fists to the sky in rage. "BRYYYYYYYYCCCCCCCEEEEEEE"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm
coelacanth∅:

i could understand marbles in a blender sounding like an aquarium, as long as the blender had a very quiet, belt-driven motor, and there was a milkshake in the blender with the marbles.
that's all.

Sometimes I look back at my college show and laugh. The way it worked was we each to do a show that followed the automated indie rock playlist the computer burped out, but then some of us also had specialty shows that focused on a specific genre. The Disney show, the hip hop show, etc. I said my genre was "weird stuff" but it was actually completely themeless and was just a WFMU-style freeform show. Not sure how I got away with the themeless themed show.

The definitive proof I have that no one was listening to me (or at least, none of the station exec staff) is that I played "Caucasian Guilt" by Noh Mercy- an extremely offensive little ditty sent to me by none other than Irwin- look it up if you dare!- at like two in the afternoon and never heard a word about it.
