Favoriting September 19, 2017: JOHN DOE of X
X bassist and vocalist John Doe discusses his and the band's film and television acting and soundtrack contributions on this special edition of Morricone Island. From being the subject of music documentaries (The Decline of Western Civilization, Urgh: A Music War and X: The Unheard Music) to roles in over 75 film and television productions (Border Radio, Slam Dance, Road House, Great Balls of Fire and Roadside Prophets) not to mention providing music to countless films and television programs, it would be difficult for a band that has defined Los Angeles music since the late-1970s, living under the shadow of Hollywood's film and television industry, to somehow escape the city's allure and opportunities. All of the original members of the legendary band play NYC's Stage48 on September 21st in support of X's "40th Anniversary Tour" commemorating their 1977 formation in Los Angeles and the history that followed!

That violin duo Decline sounds great. The original soundtrack was kind of a big deal for a high school kid living in Indiana.
