not sure about Antonio, but Jorge Reyes had a fatal heart attack in 2009. I'm only playing his solo stuff tonight, but he was in a few psych/prog rock bands that are pretty interesting, particularly Chac Mool. I don't like any of it as much as this, but Mexico's exp. rock scene is totally overlooked

exactly, such a cool idea to make music like this... there's already a kind of precolumbian notion of sort of ancient sci-fi that appears in a lot of synth music, but usually in the form of exoticism, imagined antiquities – like Edgar Froese's "Ages" – but this stuff sort of reverse engineers that syncretism with some indigenous knowledge and a more genuine connection to the land, jungle, animals. makes for very potent stuff
