A question for the collective wisdom here: UbuWeb is playing a file dubbed "Johnson_2009 - 1-21." Mostly solo electric guitar, but later it sounded like a small ensemble with a clarinet, perhaps a 'cello, etc. Does anybody know who this was? Derek Johnson or Emma Johnson, perhaps?

no idea

^That comment is weird. It's a close paraphrase of a comment I posted over three years ago here at https://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/56634 @wittsend, Did you look for information, find my comment, and repost it to solicit information? I don't think I ever got a clear response.

hi! Listening in!

wittsend:

i was equally stumped by the title so tossing the question back into the world wide web four years later seemed worthwhile. i'm so sad no one has an answer, dean. such a beautiful tune :(

Dean:

@wittsend: Fascinating. I barely recall the piece at this point! Wish I could (re-)discover it. Tom Johnson keeps coming up in searches, but nothing clearly associated with a January 2009 recording. Puzzling.

rockin' OUT, Creamo!

(cue in SOMEBODY... anybody?!... from the station and otherwise who can illuminate this matter). I hope we'll figure it out, Dean! If I do I'll def. let you know!

Dean:

Is Kenny G. still the guy behind ubuweb? I might just contact them and hope for a reply.
