i have so much stuff. it made me feel fulfilled when i found it during bilk collection night in brooklyn or at the salvation army or at a thrift shop. now it's just a lot of crap to dust and trip over.

i was working on my 1982 gl500 silverwing interstate today. i had to change the water pump seal and do some other crap to it. then i rode it and asked myself 'why do i own this bike? it's like riding a turd.' it was the best 1982 had to offer though.

As it happens, dale,
we are selling our first house in Canada next week.
I will be moving the important stuff to a farm nearby.
The new owners were thrilled we threw in so much shiny stuff on the deal
My one old ride was a Vespa GS 250 that I traded for a tractor. This is useful stuff!
The Harley Road King is not going North. Ever.

My favorite comic book villain(s) is/are The Interior Brigade. They break into people's homes and rearrange the furniture in such a way that drives one of the members of the household homicidally insane.

i have too many bikes, and that equates to too many batteries and too many tires and too much insurance and too much registration fees. and the old carbureted ones are a pain in the ass.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:15pm
common:

you should call it the bakery, hearty!

Avatar 7:25pm
Old Dave:

There are so many nice Massey tractors in Canada, glenn.
I am told your government helps farmers there buy JD mega tractors and dispose of them
cheap here in the US. With your tax $$, of course!
Avatar 7:25pm

same masseys as massey hall, by the way.

newish house a few miles away has light pink siding and pepto pink shutters. i'm sure the husband is henpecked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm
coelacanth∅:

the house my father grew up in, which i spent summers at until i was 12, had stucko on the inside walls. i hated it as a child because it hurt to run my filthy hands across. when they decided to sell the house (for 1/2 what they should have to the supposed friend next door) they smoothed out all that stucko - for a lot of money.
i realise now how amazingly well sound-insulated that house was because of that stucko.
Avatar 7:46pm
Old Dave:

Every Realtor is trained to insist you should hire a painter they know to spray neutral colors
or the place will never sell. Don't they get something back from their painters for selling this idea?
Avatar 7:47pm
glenn:

sorry, man. stucco.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
coelacanth∅:

- i grew up in a pink house! my parents bought "beige" but it was off, and quickly aged to pink. when i was a teenager thay painted it blue.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
dale:

houses on the market should look like a neutral palette - that's why it's done.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
coelacanth∅:

"stucco"; "they"....
Avatar 7:49pm
glenn:

oh, fuck the realtor. anybody buying a house is going to paint it the colours they want anyway.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:49pm
common:

I saw a mantis and a rat yesterday. and a paper enemy
Avatar 7:49pm
glenn:

anyway, dinner awaits. toodley pip.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:51pm
dale:

i've painted a couple of houses that the interiors would make you gag, they were so whacked out colorwise. white trim and 'builder's beige' and people see possibilities. they see their own bad taste but that's beside the point.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
melinda:

hi everyone! playlist is up now!
Avatar 7:55pm
Old Dave:

The weird wallpaper in nice old houses was never attractive to me dale. It usually hid crumbling plaster.
But it did the job a century ago...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm
coelacanth∅:

yeah the whole thing is a scam. i think most people can imagine what they'd do with those walls regardless of what's on them; and some people wont get excited over the possibilities of a house if it's all white &/or bland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm
coelacanth∅:

...and i've seen this happen a few times, where the house was on the market just as long, or longer, after it was whitewashed as it was before that.
Avatar 7:56pm
Old Dave:

Hearty White is a gem, and this show is one of his best yet.
Thanks!

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:59pm

I guess it was just me missing the playlist, oh well. Thanks Hearty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm
chris:

thanks, Hearty! and thanks, Kenzo, but now my time warp comment is meaningless. like lawn furniture to its former owner.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm

Thanks Hearty! Excellent as always!
