Opal Nations used to do a great doo-wop show on KPFA in the 80s and 90s. Echoing what you said about how much doo-wop there is out there, it was common knowledge -- though I never saw it first hand -- that the floor where Opal stored his doo-wop records was warped U-ishly downward in the middle

though I have not tried it yet, I have heard very good things about applying wood glue (with brush) to vinyl to remove all dust particles, etc. Let it set 24-48 hours, peel it off, etc.
