Weird but true story: I picked out today's playlist pic yesterday morning. A few hours later I was hit on the head by a falling tree limb. Coincidence? Or, the revenge of the vegetable monsters?

This sounds like my old delay effect is being used.
Avatar 12:28pm
Tony Coulter:

Someone's using a delay effect on the accuplaylist today -- it's responding really slowly.
Avatar 12:32pm
Tony Coulter:

Probably those damn vegetable monsters are to blame.
Avatar 12:35pm
Tony Coulter:

Ah, they're releasing their grip.
Avatar 12:43pm

Jeez, 2017 is almost over -- but I still feel like a release from 2017 is "brand new." Tho this Yximalloo is only around 6 weeks old.

I'll be doing a basement records set later in the show, for the first time since September. Those basement records have gotten even moldier over the last 8/9 weeks.

damn- i just saw that,Tony. glad you're okay. (maybe a chiropractic adjustment or a good massage is in order)
Avatar 1:02pm
Tony Coulter:

Thanks, coelacanth∅! I guess I must have a thick skull.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm
coelacanth∅:

one rainy day, years ago, i went out to my car and saw an 8-10' long tree branch held vertically by my upstairs neighbor's soft-top car roof. when i looked closer saw it had pierced the roof and was firmly embedded into the seat inside.
...that would put a person (or dog, etc) out of commission pretty effectively...probably almost silently.
Avatar 1:13pm
Tony Coulter:

The limb that beaned me was actually about that size -- but fortunately it didn't land on my head vertically.
Avatar 1:14pm
Tony Coulter:

Plus, it tapered at the end -- I imagine I must have been bonked by the thinner end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm

that's crazy!

What type of vegetable monster is toughest? Celery monsters probably aren't to hard to beet, but we'd bitter watch out for those radicchio monsters....
Avatar 1:33pm

I once bought a mutant carrot that had spiny spikes in it. That would have to be my worst vegetable encounter. (Heya, Ike!)
Avatar 1:34pm

Popcorn followed by Yakety Sax, perfect!
Avatar 1:34pm

Would all the sexual harassment that's being uncovered these days have seemed so bad if "Yakety Sax" had been playing in the background?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
JtotheK:

hmmm. internet searchers of the future may read my comment @1:24pm and look at the accuplaylist and presume I was speaking about 'Yakety Sax'. Oh my.

The secret to defeating eggplant is to degorge (pre-salt) and/or blanch it first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm

(the ones on discogs are priced anywhere from 50 cents to 3 dollars and up, which seems VERY excessive. i plan on finding one in a 5 for a dollar bin. someday!)

@coel - i know, i was only gently teasing NGH. although i imagine the WFMU Executive Staff reviews the clicky-star data for hours on end. and when they see the blip of Boots Randolph 'yakety sax' will realize, wow - we have all this pent-up demand for Boots Randolph - and suddenly Boots will see a major spike in airplay. right?
