@350F, it's 3 minutes a pound for deep fried turkey.

When I first moved to the country, I'd buy these dressed 30lb + mutant birds, 6 at a time, fresh, the day before Thanksgiving. Had a whole freezer just for that purchase.

PSS, re Pere Ubu’s longevity: it maybe means less when you consider that “Pere Ubu” means essentially David Thomas. There’s nobody except Thomas in it from the seventies, or even maybe the eighties; I think Michele Temple is second-longest band member currently.

Though they are (to me) mostly relevant still, which is impressive.

(it's not a greatest hits album; it's the first pf album) i didn't get the giant wave of childhood until i saw that image of "the partridge family album". i know it was the first non-christmas music to be played on the stereo in 1970. my sister was so happy.

i usually can still find humor funny - just as i can still enjoy music - after i learn some deplorable news about the creators of it.

pp&m's first and 3rd albums are what weened me off shitty children's records that bored me at the age of 2-3. our whole family would sit around the living room and sing along with the entire albums on weekend nights.
it's impossible to say what i might think of it if i were introduced to it later in life.
