My Janet Greene single was given to me by the owner of the much missed Boom Wow Records in Portland OR. Being mainly an outlet for Soul and R&B 45s, they were always setting aside peculiar, otherwise unsellable, records for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Has been suggested/observed that just as in the early-mid 20thCentury - people's instincts are correct that the old Order/System is wrong & failing...how they react to it, & what they choose is another matter (Fascism was linked to Futurism, for example)...I always note that WWII followed the Depression: Take the Money out, & people get Grumpy - it ain't rocket science (tho' it *is* - deliberate, engineered...) & WWII followed WW Uno: War resolves nothing - the next War is inevitable. War is not meant to be Won - it is meant to be Continuous, said Orwell, warned Eiswenhower - an actual General...all to no avail...

my findings on porky pig (this is from a 2004 chatroom):

Denny Brownlee is the one and only vocalist. He was identified
as "Porky Pig" on the original 45 RPM release of the song
20 years ago. Warner Brothers complained about copyright
infringement, so he was rechristned "Seymour Swine" for legal reasons."

interesting, Parq. - i didn't read it all; saved it for later...but maybe this is in there. (this from the wfmu blog)
from the christian anti-communist crusade:
"Janet has a number of unfair advantages. For one thing she looks like a girl. Not many female protest singers can say that. And that may be what they are really protesting against, deep down. Granted, there are plenty of male protest singers who look like girls, but they don't look as good as Janet Greene either. Also, Janet does things that most protest folk singers wouldn't dream of. Like taking a bath. And like wearing clean clothes and dressing neatly and being legally married and having legitimate children and loving her country. You know, corny things like that..."
