A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Peace all. I dropped out of art school (Syracuse U.) and Architecture School (Cooper Union) and I think I have pretty good taste. I REALLY love this painting/drawing because it is almost abstract in many ways but it is figurative. I dislike about 90% of the art I see anymore, but I love stuff that tries to be figurative. Have a good Pearl Harbor day folks.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am

I really like this ; from dave nelson's bandcamp: "Another set of improvised music using trombone and analog pedals. Each track is a first take improvisation that starts simply and develops organically into a fully realized composition. This is the first music ever recorded in my studio in upstate New York. Inspired by West African music and classical minimalism, these pieces stretch out and develop a little more slowly than previous works for a more expansive and trance-like feel."

@βrian: I am reminded by @10:03 of a line from Rescue Me. Dennis Leary has parked illegally and a cop is giving him a ticket. Leary, drunk---it's season 1 or 2---checks the cop's name tag, and sees the man is Jewish. Things get heated, Leary invokes 9/11 and firemen, and the cop stops him right there: "You know the difference between Jewish guilt and Irish guilt?" he asks. Leary shakes his head.

"Whisky."

@Stevel-you could do what I did. Get a Stihl (or Husqvarna) leaf shredder vac, make tons of eco friendly mulch for your flower beds, garden and compost heap. Its free! Hi Trouble ... re: weather and painting...... after the big Krakatoa eruption in 1883, skies and notably , sunsets were dramatically affected for a number of years. The Royal Society has a collection of sunset paintings before and after almost daily spanning a number of years and its a cool record of how the world was altered. It is thought that one of these sunsets inspired Munch’s ‘The Scream’

  10:27am
Stevel:

Wild Neil: That's a great idea, especially since I live in town. The city actually picks up leaves, twice over the season, and composts them for use by the parks department. Still, I lack soil additives. I also have some space for a controlled compost set up. I've considered this design. For under $100, I should probably just buy one.
