cold rain, snow, and a mighty wind blowing through YS, OH as I listen tonight...the fire I made earlier still burns bright though! peace to all on this early Xmas morn!

There has been a Christmas miracle! I can finally tolerate Brent's singing if a show is otherwise good

Greetings from Los Angeles, and sick in bed; as if the holidays could get any worse

Brent’s Singing Was Terrible. The Band Sounded Just OK. We Can’t See On Chat What Year The Gig Was!!

Hmmm, never explored much Hot Tuna before but this is really nice. Is this one of the better albums?

How bout some BAD quicksilver now
  12:24am
Agent Peter:

In the Brent era, Bob's voice was totally shot and Phil wasn't singing for most of it. Plenty of shows from back then were flat as a pancake until Brent added some energy to the stage.
Avatar 12:25am
Jennifer_PNW:

Will do. Thanks Jeff.
Avatar 12:25am

Welcome, Eartha

Jeff - Thanks for showing up on a week when many a DJ bailed, and thanks for playing Jorma, whose voice does not suck.

can i make a request for "Cross the Breeze" by Sonic Youth??
Avatar 12:29am

You can make all the requests you like, Sean, but I will not honor them. Sorry.

Yo Jeff. It's rare that I get to listen live (just tuned in- not sure if I should be sad I missed the Dead spin it not, based on the board). Anyhoo, thanks for doing what you do - always enjoy jammin to the archives.

Saw Richard Thompson on the 13th. Show was really great as usual. But he would not play Jorma's Hesitation Blues. Did play Marty Robbins' Big Iron.
  12:35am
Kev in norfoc:

Yeah, Jeff - you always seem to bring the dope shit. And that ain't no bull, brother.

Eartha Lime:

On the Richard Thompson show, yes it was one of the four in a row request shows. He laughed at the Hesitation request and joked about Northern California bands like that stuff is off the table, and then referenced Moby Grape as something wonderful (snarky British humor?).

You put your request on a little green slip and it goes into a bucket. He can pass the chosen slip to an assistant who prints the lyrics. He didn't choose my two minute sea chanty "Santy Anno" by Odetta.
