Not to make Mark move away from me on the Group W Bench, but looking at her previous playlists, this is what I come to WFMU for. Half of these playlists could be from my music -- and the other half I will listen to pretty damn closely!

(okay, not half... you know what i'm sayin')

Good morning, Mark V. Do you have a go-bag of records/CDs ready to bring to the station when called upon on short notice? Or do you pick out selections from the library once you arrive?
Avatar 12:28am
mark1981:

@Ken, I pick selections when I arrive. And I try to follow my gut/ mood/ mind/ heart/ etc

Thanks for the explanation. It's fun to hear sounds of Detroit tonight. Aside from airport layovers, I've never spent time there.

I love it, too, Scraps.
Avatar 1:51am
Scraps:

I so loved this song on a Rough Trade comp that I bought a Zounds import knowing nothing else when was 20 or so. I bought every Rough Trade comp ever since they put out Wanna Buy a Bridge and it changed my life
  1:54am
Bobby:

Great comp, Scraps!
Avatar 1:57am
Scraps:

in fact you played Red Krayola's "Born in Flames" in another Tenderness Junction which was another one that Rough Trade open my ears to in a comp.... Girls At Our Best, another... ANYway.
Avatar 1:59am
Scraps:

Bobby, I still think Wanna Buy a Bridge is the best various artist reissue ever.
Avatar 2:03am
Scraps:

My mom calls me Scraps. :-)
  2:05am
Bobby:

Scraps, I’m especially entranced by the Kleenex and Raincoats tracks. Or just Kleenex and The Raincoats in general.
Avatar 2:05am
Scraps:

I seen it; it's the album cover, right?
Avatar 2:10am
Scraps:

Bobby, I don't know why, but I took years to get into Kleenex/Liliput. Which I did, eventually. Raincoats I got right away, though I'm weird (apparently) for liking the second and third (vinyl only; the CD loses four tracks, bizarrely) Raincoats albums more than the first.
  2:11am
erm:

what a lovely track, mark
  2:13am
erm:

that was a weird evolution, I like it.
  2:15am
Bobby:

Scraps, Odyshape is awesome. I love it.

  2:43am
erm:

Mr. mark I wish we could hang around someday. I like your vibes, pretty strange indeed, but they remind me of a certain character of a Malaysian play I saw back in the 80's
