Since I've moved to Gainesville, FL, I've found a great music/DIY/noise/avant/world club music scene. International bands and SE noiseniks come through here these days. I got Talibam! to add FL to their North American tour. Loving it here. Miss Brooklyn, but glad there is culture down here (into my job, which is why I moved).

Florida metal, there was once a Tampa death metal scene, but nothing impressed me, and like decent metal.

Lot's of good noise punk and hairy techno, down here. It's been a while since there's been folk wyrdness. Found a curator and another venue who likes the ideas I have, hoping to start practicing w/ my new band come the new year (still putting together furniture when I'm not working).
