  9:04am 1whoknewcthulhu:

Thanks for the smokin' hot Fleetwood Mac. We need that right now in the northeast!

Hello Brainiacs
  9:04am Jeff:

Come back, Danny (and bring Peter with you). We need you now more than ever!
  9:04am dan:

Good ol Fleetwood Mac jungle music to open up the first show of 2018.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:06am WilliamfromDumont:

Morning Bob and all. Need to give a shout out to The Who Sell Out. Released in the U.S. 50 years ago today.
  9:07am Kevin Sutton:

I am going through a rediscovery of early FM (Peter Green's) Love It!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am Sem:

Hello, Bob, good morning. Hello, far-flung Brainenoids.
  9:07am Mark R:

Bob this is the first chance I've had to listen to you live in a long time. Digging the vintage Mac, man, omg. Somebody laid a bunch of live gigs on me from this era and they were just a stunning live band in '69/'70. Maybe the best live band of their era, seriously. Oh and now there's Spirit. Such a favorite. My older brother had this first Spirit album and I couldn't get over the fact that they had a guy with a shaved head in their band. I'd never heard of such a thing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am Sem:

This reminds me of a Led Zep tune.
  9:11am Ricky:

Hi, very happy to be here.
  9:11am Mark R:

Spirit Fans, for years the only Spirit albums you could find were Best of and 12 Dreams, but a few years ago, I discovered a 2-CD very comprehensive collection called "Time Circle," if you're interested in digging a little deeper on them. It has "Gramophone Man" on it, I just checked.
  9:12am Mark R:

Raise your hand if you had a crush on Chaka Khan in the 70s.

  9:25am dan:

Mac, Spirit, Oscar, Aretha and the gang are lightning up my Saturday.
  9:26am Mark R:

Nice to hear one of the deep cuts from this Aretha album, there were so many hits, you never get to hear songs like this one.
  9:28am Jeff:

Wow, love this Robyn Hitchcock track!
  9:28am Mark R:

There are still tickets left for the February 15th Robyn Hitchcock show at Monty Hall!
  9:31am GListener MW:

I’ve been loving all the R.Hitchcock lately on WFMU lately on multiple DJ’s shows!
  9:45am dan:

Shame that Laura Nyro didn't have more of a mainstream success as a performer.
  9:45am 1whoknewcthulhu:

More Laura Nyro! And to think I first heard "Eli's Comin'" through the Three-Dog Night version.
Avatar 9:46am dfb:

wow this Nyro is rocking and rolling
Avatar 9:57am Linda Lee:

beautiful morning! fantastic music! thanks Bob!
  9:57am Dungaroos Kipawah:

Perhaps I've missed this in past, Bob, but what is "Tom Ardolino's Magic Jukebox"--a release? Or just songs he liked & shared on mixtapes?
  9:58am herb.nyc:

I don't know how to drive. The car song just killed me. R.I.P.
Avatar 10:00am dfb:

I didn't need to look and I already knew it was The Beach Boys. You can't mistake those voices.

Jerry Newman was also heavily involved in the early days of WKCR.
  10:11am Dungaroos Kipawah:

Thanks Bob
  10:14am dan:

Outstanding Rolling Stones choice.
Avatar 10:14am Linda Lee:

Brian Jones ~ absolute genius & the father of this band. Shame.
Avatar 10:15am Linda Lee:

*My* Stones ~ when I love them best.
Swag For Life Member 10:16am tadpoles:

"You're obsolete my Baby" - ouch!
Avatar 10:18am Linda Lee:

bitchy as only Jagger could be.
  10:20am dan:

@tadpoles

That and "You've Got A Lot Of Nerve To Say You Are MY Friend" are the two lyrics that hurt badly.
Avatar 10:21am Linda Lee:

another exceptionally bitchy lyricist :-)
  10:27am Jeff:

Bob, thanks for turning me on to David Earle Johnson!
I thought I knew it all...
Swag For Life Member 10:29am tadpoles:

@Linda Lee... @dan... Not sure if Jagger was writing about Chrissie Shrimpton but if so it's amazing how he turns the tables calling her "unfaithful"!
  10:31am paul:

Marianne was Faithful
Avatar 10:32am Linda Lee:

standard tactic of abuse, of course ..
Avatar 10:34am Linda Lee:

she might have been unfaithful too. generally good reasons for that. :-)
  10:44am Jeff:

Sounds like Greeny?
Avatar 10:45am SmokinJ:

Man this shit rocked!
  10:46am Doc Rock:

Sure Does!!
  10:46am Chris Volz:

Peter Green = MONSTER
  10:48am dan:

Teenage Steve Winwood. Bieber should have studied how Winwood sang and maybe he could have been good.
Avatar 10:50am Linda Lee:

Winwood ~ another genius. fantastic.
  10:53am Jeff:

I’d rather have ants in my pants than rats in my room!
Avatar 10:54am Linda Lee:

@Jeff ~ bet you wouldn't! :-D
