Good evening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Uncle Michael:

I love the Iceman, but I gotta go with Ronald, every time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Sam Segal:

Hiya, @UM! Thanks for stopping by.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm Uncle Michael:

Man, Sam...you got a date in the studio tonight?
Avatar 9:12pm still b/p:

With the first three tracks we got -- to quote Beacheh Boyseh -- good, good good.

Sam taking off a wiiiide lapel jacket to dance slow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm Sam Segal:

@UM: No, but now you're making me think I should do a special program aimed at that sort of audience.
@SBP: Shifting gears here, but I promise I won't be putting that wide lapel jacket back on tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm Uncle Michael:

That would be a very special program, indeed.
Avatar 9:24pm coelacanth∅:

greetings Sam, equestrians, former equestrians
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm Sam Segal:

Welcome aboard, @Coel! Glad you're here.
Avatar 10:06pm northguineahills:

Here! After work, tried some local microbrew belgian quads. They know their stuff,

The only Playgroup I know of is Trevor Jackson's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm Sam Segal:

That was the very same Playgroup, @ngh! Welcome.
Avatar 10:08pm northguineahills:

(looks at the rest of the playlist, and, well, it was Trevor Jackson!) Darn Belgian quads!
Avatar 10:16pm northguineahills:

Radio Matrix, a new label to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm Sam Segal:

Same for me. I came to that EP as fan of Mor Elian's DJing. Hadn't heard of the label until now either.
Avatar 10:21pm northguineahills:

Found a good dj scene here (people don't run for the exits when good music is played). Planning a potluck, ???? live music, dance party at a friend's warehouse. Your playlists will help! (I'll be part of all three stages of said event).
Avatar 10:22pm northguineahills:

I know DJ Stingray 313.
Avatar 10:25pm northguineahills:

Let's just say I'm friends w/ the percussionist from Storm & Stress.
Avatar 10:26pm northguineahills:

Said friend has a a Philosophy degree from a certain MS uni.
Avatar 10:28pm northguineahills:

As I stated earlier on WFMU, this MLK Jr Day means more to me this year then any other.
Avatar 10:30pm northguineahills:

(I know of DJ Stingray 313 [you play some music that's even obscure to me])
Avatar 10:31pm northguineahills:

By the time I get to Arizona???
Avatar 10:32pm northguineahills:

John Coltrane's "Alabama"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Someone had to break northguineahills's chat board hegemony!
Avatar 10:34pm northguineahills:

How is King's voice not music?
Avatar 10:35pm northguineahills:

As per usual, bossman Doug kills the spell ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm Sam Segal:

Damn, you make a fine point, @NGH! Were you trying to guess the break music there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm Sam Segal:

You are a nothing, if not a breaker of hegemony, @Doug. Glad to have you tonight.
Avatar 10:36pm northguineahills:

It wasn't a guess, it was necessary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43pm Doug Schulkind:

Thank you, Sam. Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm Sam Segal:

"What they truly advocate is Socialism for the rich and Capitalism for the poor."
Avatar 10:48pm still b/p:

Had a Nero ref in there...a few days ago, with the latest particular loopy boast of POTUS, I wanted to provide a clip to someone who'd play it for a wider audience, of Ustinov as Nero saying with some intensity,"You...are my evil...genius!"
Avatar 10:50pm northguineahills:

Apparently, the bass of bass of MLK's voice got the first noise complaint at my apt from my mini 3" speakers. UK bass after midnight never got any complaints.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm Sam Segal:

Makes you wonder if the person complaining didn't really have a problem with noise at all...
Avatar 10:54pm northguineahills:

I wake up earlier then they do, and I'm 15 years older....
Avatar 10:56pm northguineahills:

I told them of what I'm listening to.... and *crickets*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm Sam Segal:

Hoh, boy....kids these days, I tell ya, @NGH...
Avatar 11:05pm northguineahills:

I couldn't find a cloud to yell at but I found an onion for my new belt!
Avatar 11:14pm coelacanth∅:

- whew.
Avatar 11:16pm still b/p:

Half a century on...how much of that speech needs revision?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm Sam Segal:

Not a damn word.
Avatar 11:17pm coelacanth∅:

refreshing my memory of that speech reminds me also how it was never a surprise that the government had him murdered.
  11:18pm zonk ludlow:

First time listener from Australia, loving the show. Still b/p - very little, sadly my country is in a similar state, the planet needs healing in so many ways.
Avatar 11:19pm northguineahills:

What Sam said.

Time recollect ourselves. Thanks Sam.

Need to clean, will be back later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Sam Segal:

Heya, @Zonk! So glad you could make it.
Avatar 11:19pm still b/p:

And half a century on, how much of it still would seriously provoke, offend and rankle those people in locked disagreement?
Avatar 11:21pm northguineahills:

Hey zues, @zonk, I wish we were Oz, we make you you like Dansk on a good day.
Avatar 11:23pm northguineahills:

Well, I got the Sam Segal MLK badge of honor w/ the noise complaint. You can share the badge, too, Sam!
  11:25pm Dean:

We lack a war movement because we lack wars. Instead, we enjoy exercises of "military force."
  11:26pm zonk ludlow:

northguineahills - We are fast catching up to what is going on in the US with our present government seemingly willing to adopt some of Trump's policies, such as tax breaks for the rich. Not to mention the influence the likes of Murdoch has on the redneck fringe here. Troubling times my friend.
Avatar 11:26pm coelacanth∅:

dems and reps are the same team. people who don't realize it's a big game and that they're being played are fools.
  11:30pm zonk ludlow:

coelacanth∅: Same thing in Australia with our two party system of Labour & Liberal. Subservient to banks & big business and to hell with everybody else.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm Sam Segal:

Think of it as an act of civil disobedience, @NGH.
Avatar 11:48pm still b/p:

Thanks for the stroking, stoking and settling down. Good night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Sam Segal:

Hahaha, any time, @SBP. Thanks for the open ears!
Avatar 11:57pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Sam
take care.
  11:58pm zonk ludlow:

Cheers Sam for the past 3 hours. Until next week.
  11:58pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks, Sam!
