The BEST (if short lived) party-rock-n-roll band active in NYC from 2001-2003.
Their main goal was to (1) play catchy rock 'n' roll that anyone could enjoy, and (2) have fun while doing it. With that in mind, their songs were inspired by the speed & simplicity of bands like the Ramones, Supercharger, and Bobbyteens; while their performances channeled the loudness of the Stooges, and the one-song-after-the-other assault of the "It's Alive" Ramones album, building an inescapable wall of sound for live audiences.
During their short time playing together, Tie Reds burned bright and fast, becoming the catalyst for Dot Dash and the birth of an active garage-punk-art-rock scene that hosted new out-of-town bands, such as Black Lips, and saw local favorites as Little Killers, Roger Sisters, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Star Spangles gain larger audiences.
Tie Reds are: Dave (vocals/guitar); Teri Lea (keys/percussion); Alessandra (bass); Nate (drums/vocals); and everyone sang backing vocals.

SAHM, DOUGLAS WAYNE (1941–1999). ... Sahm was a musical prodigy who, at an early age, began playing with a local band. He was singing on the radio at the age of five and was so gifted that he could play the fiddle, steel guitar, and mandolin by the time he was eight years old...
