Listener comments!

  3:05pm Sid:

Damn you BK, I still have "Candy Girl" rattling around in my head from last night's Bandstand. She and, later, Marianne are the very best 4S hits. As for Spring Lake NJ, I spent several memorable summers next door in Belmar 20 years after Candy Girl. Good times! Now, on with the rrrreal countdown...
  3:05pm Al:

Judging by the snap crackle pop, I'd say that this recording of "I'd Love to Change the World" has been played many times.
Avatar 3:10pm hotroddog1957:

bill kelly do you remember when alvin lee played the old college?
  3:16pm Sid:

Why did the 4 Seasons/4 Evers release under so many different names? Seems like they were doing pretty well with the main franchise.
  3:18pm Sid:

Never mind - same production/writer. Different band.
Avatar 3:20pm Mailman Tom:

I was lucky enough to see Ten Years After perform At the Fillmore East in August of 1968. They opened for Big Brother and the Holding Company.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

It became fashionable to put down AlvinLee as playing fast & sloppy
...but I for one played the stuff out of my 10YearsAfter GreatestHits LP
...didn't learn Gittar from only the yARdbiRdS...
  3:24pm Sid:

Tom, how did 10YA in '68 compare to the much-lauded Woodstock performance?
Avatar 3:26pm Mailman Tom:

Sid: It was a brilliant performance. I think it was their first U.S. tour. By the time of Woodstock, the bloom was off the rose.
Avatar 3:30pm Mailman Tom:

I checked out the Pre Fab Messiahs on YouTube. I enjoyed their song, "Bob's Psychedelic Car" the best!
  3:31pm Sid:

"Monster Riff" is good too.
Avatar 3:34pm Mailman Tom:

When I first heard Barbara Lewis belt this song out on my recently purchased EP, I became an instant fan of hers.
Avatar 3:34pm Mailman Tom:

Sid: I will be checking out "Monster Riff" after Bill's show.
  3:41pm Sid:

I think I heard Riff on BK's other station.
Avatar 3:42pm glenn:

you know, it just occurred to me that there probably isn't one teenager listening to teenage wasteland.
  3:43pm Sid:

Does mental teenager count?
Avatar 3:44pm glenn:

hmmmm. fair enough.
  3:44pm Al:

You can be young only once, but you can be immature forever!
Avatar 3:49pm Mailman Tom:

I meant Barbara George, not Barbara Lewis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...take a lotta 1950s Rawkabilly trax, ferinstance: said to often be old Jazzbos trying to make a buck - backing singers who were practically children...Was just thinking: As Lennon observed - they were saying RawkaRolla was passe & wouldn't last from *the very start*...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(..so wuts new...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...wow - that was a true 60s Garage jewel...
  3:56pm Sid:

You have to pay BK off not to speed up the intro to your rekkid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...you fit more in a show like that...
  4:00pm Sid:

Wang dang stereo separation test record.
  4:25pm Tim in VT:

What song is this?
Where love is the only law?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Barrence Whitfield & The Savages - better than LedZep...
  4:40pm Al:

Doré records (with an accent mark on the E) A&R was handled by Lou Adler and Herb Alpert. Both are legends now.
  4:46pm Billboard magazine, October 5, 1959:

"My Heart Sings" is a Latinish, medium-beat tune that comes in for a strong warble.
  4:48pm Al:

Record sounds like it doesn't know whether it's folk or garage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...are bYRdS free from the skyways...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thx BK !
  10:33am Dorothy Kilgallen:

Is it a product or service?
10:33am panelist Betsy Palmer, "I've Got a Secret":

Before every show, Bill Cullen would reach under my skirt to snap my garter, "for luck."
9:19pm The grandson of a crooked Judge:

Dorothy Kilgallen sleeps with the fishes. Ask Sam Giancana for the details.
Swag For Life Member 2:12pm Peapeagirl:

Thanks Bill, huge smiley face sent your way...
  9:05am Del Rivers:

Thanks for playing friend Susan Surftone...Let me know if you want me to send another Del with Key Dreamers "Bright Colors" CD, if you can't find it...
