Afternoon, Fools!
That's SO funny—I was just watching Stubby Kaye do "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat" on YouTube yesterday…
Avatar 1:08pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Louder! Faster! Wilder! Wilder!
  1:17pm Marc15:

  1:26pm Jay:

The BMI index says Steve Rowe and the Furys is on the Craig music label.
  1:26pm davefromtoronto:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Greg from ZONE 5:

This right here is why I pledge.
  1:33pm davefromtoronto:

  1:34pm Sir Slouch:

What was the label from Tamaqua?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm ChrisB.:

This is excruciating.
Avatar 1:34pm Joe non Papa:

Hate Spoonerisms, but my fave is an F-Troop episode: "The Build in a Girdled Cage."
Avatar 1:38pm Joe non Papa:

Lil Abner - all I remember from it is Stupifyin' Jones.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm common:

that's quite a tray o food
  1:40pm Mark in Toronto:

Rex, I watched an episode of Run Buddy Run on Youtube, guest star Bernie Kopell. It was pretty funny, Jack Sheldon does a good deadpan.
Avatar 🌮 1:40pm Mailman Tom:

Stubby was the host of the kiddie show, Shenanagans, ABC-TV 1964-1965
Avatar 1:41pm Ambassador Feelgood:

Stubby Kaye! I'm proud to say
that I had a copy of the Shenanigans board game as a little shaver.
  1:42pm Guy Walker:

We used to love watching Shenanagins, man.
  1:44pm JakeGould:

A quart of muscatel? What could possibly go wrong!!!
  1:47pm Bub:

Shenanigans was both fun and informative. Without it I never would have known about the Sword of Damocles.
  2:06pm RevPhil:

The music on that Dukes recording sound just like Bikini by The Bikinis
Avatar 2:06pm Marc Francis:

Feeling a little no brow today...
  2:08pm davefromtoronto:

i'm sensing an impending set of lunkhead magic.

i better go lower my IQ and get ready...
  2:10pm Seaside Sid:

The first 45 I found was Ron Holden-Babe in the $1 section (Sacramento) for my chick to play on her new RP190 motor! Solid spin, Rex!
Avatar 2:15pm Daddy-o Dilly:

"Chicken Pot Pie" by the Leopards was played on Thursday by Dave the Spazz. If I heard it twice in a week that makes it a WFMU NUMBER ONE HIT!!!
  2:15pm Joe R.:

Is "Mah Mah Chicken Pot Pie" the most idiotic song ever? It has to be in consideration and I mean this as a compliment, naturally.
  2:17pm Brez:

Joe R: Didn't ya hear Buddy Starcher's "Little Red Riding Hood" earlier in the show? It's certainly in the running...!
Avatar 2:17pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Cherrrrp chirp chirp chirp.
  2:18pm Brez:

Oh, that Jon Hammer artwork is always STUPENDOUS! Can't wait to see it.
Avatar 2:18pm Juke Joint Jonny:

My new avatar says: I'm something new. I'm a NO BROW.
Avatar 2:21pm Ambassador Feelgood:

Sam and the Twisters were the guys who backed Baron Daemon on his "Transylvania Twist" single!
Avatar 2:22pm Marc Francis:

Hey Rex: Is there anywhere to buy that Fools Paradise Favorites over here in North America?
Avatar 🌮 2:23pm Mailman Tom:

Will it be available at the WFMU Record Fair?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm drr:

That Japanese Twist sounds like something Murry Wilson would like.
  2:27pm Marc15:

Rex, as a Marathon premium, you should give away tickets to see the criminally insane
Avatar 2:28pm Daddy-o Dilly:

"The criminally insane on display in cages".

Did The Tri-Counts steal from The Bellnotes ?
  2:30pm Joe R.:

  2:42pm Tom:

90.1 signal gone!!
  2:42pm Listener Robert:

WMFU's down again, as of about 5 mins. ago. I'm surprised they have any electricity there. My friend in Hawley, Penna., just a bit west of Mt. Hope NY, doesn't expect electricity until Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Rex, I never heard whether you got the Joe E. Ross Memorial Book I sent you last fall.
Avatar 2:42pm Marc Francis:

@Joe R.: Thanks!
  2:44pm davefromtoronto:

see what i mean???
  2:45pm Tom:

@listener Robert thanks for info.
  2:50pm Listener Robert:

WMFU went down yesterday about 3:30 PM, was off at least 6 hrs., was on again by 6 AM. Always seems to happen right before marathon.
  2:51pm Tom:

I sadly Agree
  2:56pm Listener Robert:

Since Nachum left, no longer have Jehova to part the storm clouds for the station. Maybe Kevin Nutt can get some results. If he fails, then try Dum-Dum. Actually Diane can hail Satan too, right? Cover all bases.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Thanks, Rex!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm Parq:

Hi, Rex. Listening on the 'chive on Monday night. Great show, as ever. Below is the Stubby Kaye kids' show I remember. It seems from his own Wikipedia page that it was one of several. He is one of my all time favorite character actors and comic singers.
