Jesse has a really great premium this year, called "New Bliss." It's a comp of analog-synth-heavy ambient/drone/experimental stuff, all from 2017. Really fab ... and yours for a pledge of $75!!
SUPER THANKS to William C of Amory, Mississippi for his generous pledge! He'll be in the running for one of the three prizes we're giving away at the top of the hour.
This Else Marie Pade 2CD set is a really remarkable document of a truly great innovator and musician. Also, it's never sold for less than $22 on discogs: www.discogs.com...
This just shows you - as demonstrated over and over and over again on the GTDStream - that there's more good stuff out there than you can possibly imagine!
Hey Henry, thanks again for the source audio you sent! Steal away and if you want drones my premium this year has plenty of great ones from the last 12 monhts: wfmu.org...
And ALSO... GIGANTO thanks to Aaron H of Gainesville, FL, who has already pledged TWICE! A true mensch!

βrian -- it's exactly between Memphis and B'ham. The KC, Memphis & B'ham Railroad picked the halfway point and laid out a town in that spot. Everybody in the nearby port town (Cotton Gin Port) packed up, abandoned it, and moved 5 miles east to the new town in 1887.
Amory would be a more interesting place if it weren't dry.
My senior year of undergrad, I passed through Amory on from Gainesville on the way to the Geography Conference in Memphis, b/c when I had more free time, I used to try to take the shortest route as the crow flies w/o using interstates.
and ... the three lucky winners of Jesse's fab first-hour prizes are ... William C, who gets the Francisco Lopez, Aaron H, who gets the Else Marie Prade, and Rex G, who gets the Thomas Brinkmann. Thanks so much to all of you for your pledges!!!
I'm always impressed with how much great *new* stuff Jesse plays. The man has his finger on the pulse of ... something. Time? The Universe? Happening-ness?
And the lucky winners of the hour-2 prizes are: gloomsday, who gets the Pharmakon CD; Richard R, who gets the Anthony Child CD; and Kit F, who gets the Lena Platonos LP. HUGE THANKS to all of you for your pledges!!!
They were in pristine shape, so I'd guess they were always a set. A really great bookstore called Division Leap was selling them -- they track down amazing stuff. Unfortunately, they have left Portland and moved to upstate New York.
Only 27 minutes left to pledge for Jesse's show! Show your appreciation for his great radio-ing -- and maybe win yourself a fine prize while you're at it!

Sounds good, though — just a bit distant.

Love this rain. I'm almost tired of these blues skies, lately.
