Missed that Rabelais. Looks interesting, arcane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21am
Jeffrey Davison:

hey upstate sean, annie. by the way, the march today is "March For Our Lives", happening in 800 locations. marchforourlives.com
They're even marching all over the world to try and keep Americans from shooting each other. Build bridges, not walls, peeps.
  7:23am
Luke:

Pat Metheny coming soon?
Avatar 7:24am
annie:

i was going to get all sarcastic and warn the black community to NOT march for their lives because it would mis-read by polica as a mob... such disparity, so unbalanced..
Avatar 7:28am
TDK60:

Yes annie. I saw footage of people outraged over that killing of a young black man in Sacramento, in his own yard. It can only be called an execution. Here in NYC I betcha black youth will be out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33am
Brian in UK:

Hello Jeffrey and folk hipsters. Grey and wet in this neighbourhood. No killings so far, just lame politicians.
Avatar 7:34am
annie:

i hope they are and i hope they are not singled out.. it's just outrageous...... and this austin bomber kid, treated as if he were a poor confused white boy. i really hope this disparity is not invisible and people start asking questions of our "authorities"and demanding action. yes, brian, they are lame as hell. ok, i'm all done..
Avatar 7:37am
TDK60:

Hello to our out-of-USA friends. // Annie: the Austin cops had a news conference. They said they couldn't find any terrorist connections to the bomber. Excuse me, his *acts* were! This is the Big American Contradiction. White denial.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39am
Brian in UK:

TDK60 That is even more cause for concern then surely.
Avatar 7:41am
TDK60:

Brian, were are you in UK? Just like geography (shh...don't tell any Americans, hee.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45am
Brian in UK:

I live in Watford about 20+ miles north west of London. We are hoping to move in about three weeks time to Shropshire by Wenlock Edge, not far from Telford where the first Ironbridge was built by Abraham Darby. Without whom there would be no skyscapers etc.
You want an easy answer.

Above and beyond Brian. Thanks. / Thanks too to the person who's at work here spinning the platters for us, our DJ Jeffrey.

Pride.
Fear.

This is the age we live in.
What happened to us?
When did we become this?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am

@Lixiviated Life: I think devolution is a thing and is being encouraged actively.

Good day @BIUK. Good to hear you have a firm moving date at last.
Avatar 7:52am

Always enjoy hearing another release from Constellation, up in Montreal.
Avatar 7:53am

@Lixiviated Life Hasn't this always been the case? We have just seemed to being stepping on the accelerates a bit more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am

spamoni:

Good morning Jeffrey and all.I guess I'm about to upset a lot of folks here. I carry a concealed weapon,i'm old, weak and dying of cancer but gee i don't have the urge to just go out and kill someone who's innocent and unsuspecting! It's still people who kill NOT guns!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55am
Sem:

Likewise, Brian.
Avatar 7:56am
TDK60:

Well, originally the right to a gun was I suspect meant to be just a rifle to ward off the British (hee) or poisonous snakes or rabid dogs. But, do we need machine guns? I mean really!!
Avatar 7:57am
spamoni:

TDK60 i totally agree
Avatar 7:59am
TDK60:

And spamoni, sorry to hear about your cancer and trials there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59am
Brian in UK:

I am going to sound naive here but the Second Amendment of 1791 was written in a different age to now. It seems like it is a comfort blanket that the gun club of america cling on to justify their existence.
Avatar 8:00am
duke:

@spamoni hang in there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02am
Brian in UK:

spamoni I hope our thoughts are of some help.
Avatar 8:02am

Brian, yep. And we can't forget the history of genocide against the North American Natives. That frontier/gun culture still with us. Luckily some Natives are still here to help us learn how to live here on Turtle Island.

Really digging that bowed string accompaniment in that Josh Pearson song. They build out space and texture so beautifully. Looks like they were arranged by Warren Ellis of the Dirty Three and the Band Seeds.

Thanks once again, Jeffrey, for this salon you host Saturday morning's. I miss it during Market season, and while the archives are fine for the the music you so carefully choose for us, it's the comment board's free-ranging discussions in real time that is the gilt upon the lily. See you, and all, again next time.
