Almost had an aneurysm here at work, as many of my filed got corrupted. Made a breakthrough, so rest assured, my cranial vascular health is still intact. I'm taking David Dichelle's advice, and celebrate world whisk(e)y day, maybe while watching footey as well. (as I wait for these sounds to lower my blood pressure).
In all things in life (and today for me w/ work), trial and error is your friend (glad no one was here in the office, my cursing would have made a Scotsman blush.)
Fiona's notes on this current track: "This clip involves the mixing of two field recordings. One of them was recorded at Kaitak Cruise Terminal in June 2015.
I was listening to the sound of rising and falling wind which came from a manhole. The wind was caused by the undulating sea waves under the platform.
The second field recording took place during the Umbrella Movement in 2014. I was listening to every manhole cover placed on the ground by protestors inside the Lung Wo Road Tunnel to block roads."
Well w/ Xi Prezzy for life, don't expect another umbrella movement in our lifetimes. (he specifically threatened Taiwan and HK in his spech, Xianjing (Uyghurstan/East Turkmenistan & Tibet also implied))
Scary thought, I'm the final editor before our reports go to state/federal/private agencies (I'm great at finding everyone else's grammar/spelling errors, but I can't grammar/spell worth a peanut myself).
Not a fan of the Orlando airport, but still w/in my top 10 in the US. (people give it grief, but I love LaGuardia. W/ jet blue, I'm in and out in minutes, and the bar is usually open if there are delays). Atlanta is at the bottom (stayed the night too many times there on the floor).
Now if they would translate my verbiage to Dutch (not that I'd know what to do w/ it), I'd hire them (the Dutch are good at controlling wetlands, just not at letting go back to being wild).
Unless it's "Music for Airports", the sounds of airports stress me out. I don't mind flying, it's that the process and the uncertainty of leaving on time is a wee bit annoying
I'm reading through the Hainish cycle right now, midway through The Dispossessed. I haven't gotten to Always Coming Home yet but looking forward to it!
