I've only boarded the Staten Island Ferry once, on a Saturday evening, after getting drunk w/ friends about 13 years ago.

I rode the Ellis Island Ferry.

hey melinda!
Avatar 7:22pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

I rode it with my dad a couple years ago just to ride around, we just turned around and took the next one back, it was pretty fun

I actually have been to Sagami Bay. My Boy Scout troop (one of my crazy dumb ideas) took inflatable rafts about 45 km from the mouth of the Sagami River and rowed from dawn until we got to the bay. This was 1989, so there was little pollution laws in Japan (that would change big time in the 90s). We saw a lot of questionable stuff flowing into the river. But, we made it! (I'm great at convincing people to go along on my hairballed adventures

I used to used to use the East River Ferry a lot.

errr..., hairbrained....(I need someone who speaks English!)
Avatar 7:37pm
Jesse Kaminsky:

For the record I would definitely not have gone on that adventure in 1989 but would absolutely do that today, though not a big fan of boats or water in general

I also did around 50 miles canoeing the French Broad River in 1990. We started in Tennessee, went through NC, and ended in SC. It took 3 days.

My dumbest canoe trip I ever did was on Little Black Creek South Branch (in FL), in 1996, I took my college gf, but it was in the middle of one of the worst droughts, so the water level was really low. We kept on having to get out and porter the canoe amongst the fallen trees (which usually would be passable). We were eaten alive by mosquitoes, deer and cow flies (she more then I). Four hours later, after going through private farms and god knows where, we came to a bridge. Got out, and walked 3 miles to find a phone to get someone to pick us up (oh, the pre-cell phone days). We paddled a grand five miles.

I enjoy the Staten Island Ferry... first took it to go on a picnic on the roof of willowbrook, the abandoned mental hospital, with some weirdos I met at occupy

My Dumbest Canoe Trip isn't an anecdotal category one often hears about but that's a good one.

LJ that sounds fun.

I found the blueprints to Willowbrook when I worked at NYC Dept of City Planning (was making a digital model of the City.) I wanted to do a live concert there, but sadly, that never materialized.

I looking forward to taking my wife on a dumb canoe trip this summer. I'll make it a booze cruise!

I feel like it's a moment that this Church Organ came out in the same year as Ellen Arkbo For Organ and Brass and Sarah Davachi For Organ. Great year for pipe organs!
