I could hear it as a great Gun Club cover, if JLP were still around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm
Becky:

Hey, thanks for tuning in to this first show of the summer season!
  8:20pm
Will:

I try to resist this kind of music on some sort of snob level (not my fault, grew up in Westport, CT) but when Becky plays it I cannot resist. Please don't hate me for saying "this kind of music."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
Becky:

@Will - I grew up in suburban New Jersey. No excuses!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm
dale:

isn't monica a highland park girl?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm
Becky:

@dale - the Highland Park from my neck of the woods? (Metuchen)
  8:25pm
Will:

I do so want to visit New Jersey again soon. The only time I've ever been in Jersey City, my car was stolen (1987). Trying not to hold a grudge. This show is terrific tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
Becky:

@Will - As someone who lived in Jersey City in 1987, it was basically a rite of passage. Congratulations - you can safely return.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
dale:

no....i meant illiinois.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm
Becky:

@dale - Oh! The home of the world's oldest Coney Island!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm
dale:

my car was towed only time i drove to hoboken. hd to take the subway back into the city to borrow money form someone....and this was pre cell phone and atm times so everything was tenuous and possibly not going to happen leaving you to sleep in the path station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm
Becky:

@dale And Yvonne's from Hamtramck, I believe.
  8:31pm
Will:

Oh, it wasn't so bad. Somebody called me from JCPD and told me my stolen car was in a JC lot somewhere and to go pay the fine (!) to get it out. We went down and all the wheels had been removed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
steveo:

Great dish-washing music tonight. My spouse says ok to candy, but I can keep the lies. I worked in Jersey City in the early 00s and I already don't recognize it.
Avatar 8:35pm
Richard S:

there are many parts of NJ that are nice. The farther away you are from the NYC-Philly corridor, the nicer they are.
  8:36pm
Zydeco Phil:

The world should turn off the dang CMT awards and put on 91.1 for chrissake
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:37pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

In the early 90s, I visited Cape May and my car got towed. No horror stories about stolen wheels, luckily.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:38pm
PigeonsAndRust:

I am sitting out on the porch and both the bullfrogs and the neighbors are being treated to your music. Great show tonight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm

nothing makes an enjoyable hour like 30 two minute songs! variety keeps her fresh.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 8:40pm
PigeonsAndRust:

I went to Stevens in Hoboken and once saw someone's car booted for being ten minutes overtime in a four hour zone. It was towed, with the boot on it, twenty minutes later! This was in 2003
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm
Becky:

Hoboken is notorious! I've never managed to park there without having to call the damn number to get the clamp off my tire!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm
dale:

The warm comforting sound of vinyl
  8:57pm
Will:

I have to admit that the crackle of these records is one of my favorite parts of this show (and several others). Is that a diagnosed fetish at this point?
  8:57pm
JakeGould:

Too much snap and crackle can adversely affect the pop.
  9:08pm
Bob Sagerer:

Nice track in there tonight - "Stormy Years" by Hank Forthman. wonder if anyone knows about who played on it? Sounded like Rufus Thibodeaux playing fiddle...maybe Ben Keith on steel guitar? Thanks Honky Tonk Radio Girl!
