Hi, BLT. Could it be that Duane took the train to Canada today?

This Tjader track is credited to David Amaro, but I smell Debussy. Or is it Ravel?

The bed music is "Afternoon of a Faun" by Debussy. Performed by Walter Murphy. Available on Deep Disco & Boogie CD.

Ah, got it! Thank you.

I mailed away for this record when I was in high school. I'd honestly never heard the Residents before, so had no idea what to expect. I was compelled to check them out after seeing a tiny ad in Rolling Stone Magazine and sent away for the Ralph catalog.
I was completely blown away. It ruined me for 'normal' music forever.
Avatar 1:01pm
CDToaster:

@Dean: You're welcome. You must get the one I pointed out because (as far as I know) that CD is the only place that has the full 8:01 minute version. The CD title is, "Deep Disco & Boogie."

I think if I had sent away for Fingerprince, Meet The Residents, Not Available, etc, at that tender age, I might not have fully grok'd it as I did that album.
  1:05pm
Dean:

I'm seeing an LP, Discosymphony, including an 8:00+ track of same.

Bought Fingerprince at the Capitol Records parking lot record swap meet long ago after reading a review of it in Trouser Press (or Backdoor Man?).
Avatar 1:05pm
northguineahills:

Matteo Vallicelli also new to me....
Avatar 1:13pm
CDToaster:

@Dean: I was referring only to CD releases. I'm certain that tune is available on many various vinyl records if you don't mind listening to scratches and surface noise. If you want it on CD, I gave you the title. I got mine!
  1:19pm
Dean:

Alas, no entry in Discogs for the CD! I like CDs for convenience and, in some cases, wider dynamic range. I like LPs for everything else.
Avatar 1:22pm
CDToaster:

@Dean: the music world extends far beyond "Discogs." I got mine on Amazon. I could have gotten it from eBay. There are many choices available.

Just tuning in, and saw that S.O.L.A.R. was played earlier. I saw them ca. 1984 at the New Orleans World Fair and was awestruck - a reggae/jazz/soul/commune unlike anything else except maybe Sun Ra (in spirit). Bought the record from them and never could find any info about who they were, where they were from, what they did later (pre-Internet) Grand to see a reissue
