black mountain/pink mountaintops both so great. I caught a show in montreal when bl;ack angels and black mountain were touring together and they all got on stge together for the last couple o0f songs. Magic
  3:57am
markr:

Sounds fantastic, Andrew. I have to admit they're a fairly recent discovery for me, even though they've been around forever. Really love their sound--really heavy, but then there are these trippy kind of interludes. And a female lead vocalist brings a whole new vibe. Great stuff.
Avatar 3:57am

saw them another time outdoors and ot was dusk and misty, so cool

...hahaha poor people ...please order an extra case of bottled nestle water from amazon
  4:27am
markr:

Nestle, who's draining the Great Lakes with the permission of the state legislature there, paying almost nothing to drain Michigan's most precious national research. Nestle is pure evil, dating back to when they pushed baby formula to poor African women who should have been breast feeding their babies for free. And guess what party controls the Michigan state legislature?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34am

i thought nestle was still peddling their shitty formula to ignorant mothers in "third world countries".
...either way i will boycot that company and all their affiliates forever.
FOREVER.

Vincent Nifigance:

Speaking of bottled water and megacorporations, did you Americans ever hear about what happened when Coke tried to launch Dasani in the UK?

"Unlike most of the bottled water sold in British petrol stations and supermarkets Dasani hadn't come from alpine glaciers or trickled out of a precious natural spring - it had come out of the local tap. True, the company put it through a purification process and added mineral salts, but the source was still tap water..."

"...Then on Thursday 18 March there was even worse news.

Something had gone wrong at the Dasani factory and a bad batch of minerals had contaminated the water production with a potentially carcinogenic bromate. Coke admitted defeat. Immediately they withdrew all 500,000 bottles of Dasani in circulation. In just five weeks, Dasani had come and gone, arguably providing more in terms of entertainment than refreshment."
  4:38am
markr:

I know--you switch companies and you probably find out they're doing something really evil, too. Sorry for my rant, but I'm from Michigan and the representatives there (who ONLY represent corporate interests) are absolutely destroying my beautiful home state. The poor people of Flint still don't have clean water. I don't understand why people keep voting for people like that.
  4:39am
markr:

Thanks for listening, Andrew. This is a good bedtime track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39am
coelacanth∅:

i buy bottled water because i don't trust my spring water where i live, but if my only option is to buy nestle then i will risk it with my tap water. i will not (& haven't since maybe 1990, except for 2 butterfinger bars) buy nestle.
  4:40am
markr:

We use a filter at our house. I don't know if it's doing anything, but the water tastes better.
Avatar 4:41am

nestle has been particularly hjard on michigan, i rewad where they pay like 200 dollars to suck up almth groudwater nd the plastic all ends upo in the sea. im probably rambling it was am,long day but always mnice to finish it off with the great folks at wfmu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44am
coelacanth∅:

i have a water filter for both my kitchen faucet and my shower - neither of which i can use where i am at the moment because the leaky fixtures cannot handle the backpressure of a filtration system.

markr:

I'm hoping that the music is creating a spiritual vibe to calm our souls in these troubled times.
  4:52am
markr:

This gentleman is another recent discovery--he has an extensive disography, but I've only recently started listening to him. I think he's amazing--there are so many subtle layers and textures to a piece like this. It's like a calm lake on the surface, but underneath there are all kinds of fish swimming around and stuff. I find it can be very calming, but you turn this up loud and you'll see what I mean--there's a lot going on here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54am

yes i'm sorry i got all irritated i'm far from perfect myself but can't help but get on a soapbox with the hope that somebody will think about something they maybe have never thought much about before.
  4:57am
markr:

We're ALL irritated, Coel. You'd have to be brain dead to not be. We seek our pleasures where we can (like in cool music), but we all know what's going on. We're not fiddling while Rome burns. There were hundreds of thousands of people in the streets all across the country Saturday. We're not asleep.
