Greetings Mayuko and listeners! Friday the 13th came a day late over here. I showed up for work this morning to find the building was declared unsafe for occupancy due to a car driving through it! The police and building department are allowing me in to take care of some time sensitive stuff in the lab but then I'm evicted! So... Early day for me!

Yeah, I guess ice cream is more of a summer thing but I'll take it in any weather. I made honey ice cream with graham crackers the other day. The neighborhood kids devoured it. And speaking of melting, I have a friend who doesn't like ice cream because it melts and gets messy. Weird, right? I'm reevaluating our friendship.

I didn't listen to Cure until college, but I did get to see them in 96 and they put on a terrific show. This one of maybe 7 decent songs from this double SP album...

@fred revisiting music after many years is sometimes so weird! I liked Manic Street Preachers' third album when I was in middle school. After many years I heard it again and was SHOCKED how different it was from what I remembered. I want to hear what I thought I was listening then!!!

Everything when you are a kid is so IMPORTANT and INTENSE - I was just thinking the other day how I'd like every youngster to know not to sweat ANYTHInG in school - it is so UNimportant and is destined to be forgotten completely. Also, they should tell their Gym teacher to run the 1/2 mile first.

@Jake: Nope: Ate a half of one before, wow! (there's a video of me on YouTube doing so in a ghost pepper eating contest. I got tunnel vision, tinnitus, and couldn't speak. My friend who won w/ 3 peppers got sick). I plan to smoke dry them and grind them to a powder. The flavor is amazing in small doses.

@fred: I was bullied constantly until HS. When hit, jumped, or tortured, I would give no response and remain stoic or give the appearance of being joyful (I was bit weird). Most would give up after a while (months) and some wanted to eventually become my friend.

@ngh: I was bullied too, but at the behalf of my father. He always resented me because an older sister died at birth. He wouldn't dirty his hands so he took me to the school bully's home for a "playdate" which meant me getting beat up. He never stayed to watch though, so he's not that bad

@Mayuko: In my case it's so simple: I don't have kids so I'm an embarrassment to my family. My father is a worthy member thanks to my brother's children. As for my own story, my "family" doesn't care in a hostile way, and my real family (you and others) doesn't care in a positive way. Easy choice
