Alas, I currently live in a country where weed possession would get you a mandatory five years in prison and between three to nine lashes with a rattan cane.

oh shit!! I was thinking of visiting Malaysia this year but Kuala Lumpur looks BORING!! I'm thinking Indonesia now. plan b is GREECE

Not hitting the herb until I finish cleaning to this history pod w/ your sounds, I'm either amazing or horrible at multitasking....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Give the Drummer Doug is just returning from a trip to Greece, I believe.
Avatar 12:35am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@Joel: KL is actually pretty cool. I would start with Penang first, though. If you were taking a trip in either Malaysia or Indonesia, I wouldn't stay in just one locale.
Avatar 12:35am
Joel St. Germain:

Herweg is in Greece. I'M GREEK
Avatar 12:37am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

I would say start in Penang, work your way on down through Ipoh, KL, Malacca and Singapore, then maybe take a ferry or a cheap flight down to Indonesia. If you need someone to show you some of the better haunts and food places in KL (which has some of the world's best food), I'm always down.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am
northguineahills:

I've only been across the border about 50km into Johor, Malaysia from Singapore...
Avatar 12:38am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

The good thing over here is that transportation costs aren't expensive. You could even stop in Bangkok and take a cheap flight into Penang.
Avatar 12:39am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@northguineahills: Oh, so not just Johor Bahru? JB is kind of boring, but the rest of Johor is beautiful.
  12:39am
Cooh John:

Greek is great!
Avatar 12:39am
Joel St. Germain:

I'll consider it. I know if I go to Malaysia I will come home a pants size heavier. Indonesia I would do a lot of exploring as well as eating with my left hand , Malaysia I would just eat like a factory farmed pate goose
  12:40am
Cooh John:

BTW: HELL YA!
Avatar 12:40am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Haha. That's why I bought a second-hand treadmill after I moved over here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41am
northguineahills:

@Chris: Just an amazing restaurant and an ancient colonial rubber plantation. I'm a history dork, and wanted to see it for myself.
Avatar 12:41am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

You can't jog outside in the heat, so.
Avatar 12:42am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Oh yeah, that's cool. There are plenty of both in Johor, I know. And the border at Singapore isn't too bad in terms of crossing; you can do it for a day trip if all your papers are in order and your passport is from one of the countries they like.

I like the multi cultural hot spots of planet earth
  12:43am
sicilian papi:

u should visit Sicily
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am
northguineahills:

Meh, when my knees still worked (they stopped after multiple surgeries as age 30 (stupid futbol!), I would jog in 40C 95% relative humidity (that's in FL) In NYC, I'd jog in blizzards at -12C. You just have to prepare yourself.
Avatar 12:44am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@northguineahills: What did you think of Singapore?
Avatar 12:44am
Joel St. Germain:

ahhh those drum fills are the same as Wonderful Time .. my brain pulled this one at the last sec , knows better than my liminal brain
Avatar 12:45am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

@northguineahills: I wish I were able to. Maybe it's just me, since I've always been a very heavy sweater no matter what. I do a lot better in blizzards than I do in heat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am

Sicilian Papi is full of good ideas.

Singapore: amazing food, my brother almost fell off a cliff in Sentosa, and and paternal government to boot, lah!
Avatar 12:49am

Avatar 1:00am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Yeah, they were Cleveland-based, I believe.
Avatar 1:01am
Chris in Kuala Lumpur:

Or at least, they were only famous in and around Cleveland. I first heard about them because one of my friends was from C-bus.

Great music, but a read thru the message board is enough to bring you to suicide. WFMU sure does attract the most boring listeners. Anyway, back to the choons.
Avatar 12:34pm
Joel St. Germain:

@ wakenfake LOL yeah I suppose that's true. You think I read any of this? The show is what's on the air.
