If you'll look up Flaming Lips, check out anything from their "Soft Bulletin" album ('99) thru later stuff; albums before that: '80s-'90s noisier neo-psych-punk. Later stuff more oddball synth pop, maybe.

Replying to, "What was the song in your TV commercial?," a company once sent me a cassette of but a 30-second duration non-song their ad agency produced.
"Nobody can hold me down, I'm turning this heart around," seems to be all there is, too - there is no song.

Seth Rogen's tweet leaves the question, why isn't Pixies' guitarist Joey Santiago, indeed a composer for films according to sources, listed in this film's credits? The credits rather include an Edwardo/Eduardo Santiago who bears some resemblance to Joey, and is often photographed holding a boom mike. To my ear, Joey Santiago doesn't sound like the singer, though the Pixies' vocalist's voice is a possibility . . .

Fake songs!

Replying on Reddit to Rabbitstew's posing the same "Impossible song to find from 'Observe and Report'" question, Deleted pointed to an online interview with Joseph Stephens, the actual music composer listed in the film's credits:

"There are also a couple 'fake songs' in the film, songs that I wrote and performed exclusively for the film but are meant to sound like pre-existing material from some other artist who licensed the music for use in the film in the same manner that Patto, The Yardbirds, and The Band licensed their music. There is also the cover of the [Pixies'] song 'Where Is My Mind?' which was performed by one of my bands, City Wolf. As well, as the end credit song 'Babyteeth' by my main band Pyramid. With me singing 'fake songs,' cover songs, and an original song, using the same drummer, recorded at the same studio as the score, it was easy to blend into the other licensed commercial songs throughout the film."

Thanks to everyone who commented and e-mailed re: my question on the 1st piece of set #3. It looks like the composer Joey Stephens wrote this song snippet, and that may be all there is of the "song." I assume he's the singer too but whoever it is he's got one hell of a voice. Kudos.
