The 1968 Association's Greatest Hits album was one of the biggest sellers made using the HAECO-CSG process used by Atlantic and Warner Bros/Reprise records from 1968-70, which altered the phase of the left vs. right channel frequencies so stereo records would mix, or "fold down," correctly if played on monaural equipment - say, the bass wouldn't get boosted by combining channels. Issue was, the phase altering weirded, or lessened the sound quality of the record. (The album may have been remastered for the CD)
