Noted for his charmingly simple, story songs sung with a twinkle in his eye, Michael Hurley has to his credit so many solo albums that they're a little had to keep track of. A peripheral player/friend of the Holy Modal Rounders, Hurley is also a fine artist who occasionally adds his homebrew Snock Comix to his website, Snocko News. Lately, a younger generation has been discovering Michael's charms. In honor of his live show coming up at Union Pool in September, I'm re-airing a live set Michael Hurley recorded for John Allen and I, which we ran on our overlapping shows back in 2004.

For this live set with Michael Hurley, I discovered that back when it aired in 2004 John Allen and I didn't list any of the song titles. I've been able to identify some and will list what I think it might be. But if you know the correct ones please do let me know.

he's used my phrase more often in the lyric but here he uses both...i' m gunna attempt some research - the for the show ...my college roommate & his sister were moved to tears by that same song live in the late 80s

Thanks for a very nice Snocko show. The title of 'Everybody's Doin' the Old Time Thing' is 'Indian Chiefs and Hula Girls', which appeared on a 1988 release called Watertower, and the "Around the Curve' song is called "Me and Red", which appeared on a 1999 release titled Weatherhole. The Spanish tune Esqueleto is especially a sign of Mr. Mike's versatility. Very enjoyable to hear that for the first time. Thanks.
