Favoriting September 7, 2018: Rhapsody in Blue
This week on the IRL podcast, we thought what better way to celebrate our return to the airwaves and bid adieu to our podcast-only days than to pack as much foul language as we could into one episode? Profanity without a purpose just isn't our style though, so we're joined by famed comedy historian Kliph Nesteroff (author of 'The Comedians') who talks "working blue" comics throughout the ages and two of our favorite comedy guys, Nick Fierro and Pat Byrne of Prove It All Night drop by to give their take on the topic. Join us as we explore our blue period and give our sailor's mouths a good work out before we're back under FCC supervision (and don't forget to tune in next Wednesday from 7-8pm EST on the radio or at wfmu.org for our first episode of the new season!).

Wasn't blue comedy going on that whole time on the chitlin' circuit?

I agree with Emily, a Deliverance composite canoe is cooler than just some canoe from the movie.

The South Park "It Hits the Fan" episode posited that when people curse on TV, it invokes a curse of a different sense.
