Jeff Conklin:

Whoever the guy who plays lead guitar in Jane's Addiction would have to practice for about a thousand years to be a quarter as good as Wayne Rogers tho

In 2012 Nick Paumgarten wrote and affectionate but level headed article about The Dead in the New Yorker. He quipped that the drummers playing together sounded like sneakers clonking around in a clothes dryer. Funny observation and partially true.

Jeff Conklin:

That sneakers in a dryer joke has been around for 20 plus years

That figures. I dropped the ball about 1975, so there is a lot of stuff I missed out on. But I hear things differently now, and wish I had gone to at least a few shows to hear in real time some of their more outlandish emmenations.
