Is this a fundraiser
  8:08pm
Anthony:

I wish this show was more than one hour. Best show on WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm
Becky:

@Anthony Thank you! Indeed, if you click that little pledge bar over there, you can make sure this show is on the radio for ever and ever (unless I muck it up)!

Ken in Tucson:

Howdy from way out west! Much obliged, ma'am. P.S. Most trucker songs are Western songs, IMO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm
Becky:

@Ken Agreed! If you see a cactus, it's probably Western. Even if you drive by it.
  8:19pm
Anthony:

This show reminds me of WSM only hipper. This isn't Taylor Swift's country music. Is she even considered country anymore? Both kinds of music, Country and Western!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
Becky:

@Will I've had trouble finding them all on Discogs!
  8:31pm
JakeGould:

Oh Ringo… We knew by the tone his life was not long.
  8:32pm
ALiteralWizard:

This sounds like it could be about the actual Johnny ringo
  8:33pm
ALiteralWizard:

One google later confirms that it is
  8:33pm
Anthony:

Becky where do find all of these? Are they all singles or are some of them on comps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm
Becky:

@Anthony: Some of them might be on comps! I found them all on 45s.
Avatar 8:34pm
Glennz_Cat:

I could have sworn Lorne Green did a version of "Ringo"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm
Becky:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm

I was square dancing in NJ well into the 90s.

Look at these covers! www.wagonwheelrecords.net...

JakeGould:

“Square dancing is a fun way to get kids up and moving about. This traditional dance builds skills for memorization, coordination, team-building and self-esteem.”
  8:45pm
J&E in Ithaca NY:

Grew up in North Jersey , Square dance class was done in the gym; on days when the record player wasn’t working they’d roll out an old army parachute and everybody would hold the outside of the chute, and we’d toss one kid skyward.
  8:47pm
yippie:

they even had square dancing down south in Atlantic City
  8:47pm
JakeGould:

@J&E: Now that sounds like a well thought out plan of activities for kids.
  8:48pm
ALiteralWizard:

A friend of mine years ago kept inviting me to a local square dancing thing.

Is it worth giving it a go?
  8:48pm
AL:

In NJ we had mother-son and father-daughter square dances.
  8:48pm

Square danced in Chicago public school in the 80s/90s. We also warmed up with the Robert Preston Chicken Fat record.

Hearing that would send shivers down my spine! Then I'd do some push ups.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm
Becky:

@KidProJoe I've been thinking of doing an hour of some of the absolute weirdest records I own - so maybe stay tuned next week!
