Don't have the scientific proof to back this up, but it seems like a much higher percent of Dutch '60s & '70s rock featured English-language lyrics than was the case in, say, France or Italy.

The Dutch in Amsterdam spoke much better English than the French or Italians in that period. Only the Germans were close. The Amsterdamers are still famously multilingual. But the coolness of the internet has greatly increased in English speaking in the other two countries.
