Just remember, Doug's show starts an hour earlier for those countries who think that they can mess with time (a human construct anyway)
Avatar 6:52am ausmanx:

not early enough for we who are now SO FAR AHEAD of you folks... AND it was 39 degrees here today, which is a bit mad for early november, esp when i'm goin bush in a couple of weeks. good evening Mr Brian, and Mr Doug

ausmanx quick return from the garden. The Aussie MotoGP had some rain last weekend in Philip Island. Looked wintery.
Where are you going native?
Avatar 7:50am ausmanx:

it was, that's what happens here. 20 degrees one weekend, 36 the next. we're off up to Arnhem Land, the remote side, not this Kakadu nonsense. how's the garden coming along? and the chickens?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00am Doug Schulkind:

Next week, we will end daylight savings time and start an hour later.

Oh, thank the gods on the goal being hit, FMU's future was another worry on top of many I can at least postpone to March. Still worried about further paring down that may become needed and hoping the construction behind the station doesn't make the Magic Factory's life hell.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 8:55am Brian in UK:

ausmanx ....and then you drive back?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am Doug Schulkind:

It has been many years since WFMU reached it's October-long goal in (practically) October.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Pedro in Arlington:

Vote them all out. Every one of them with an R by their names. All of them. It is not a party. It's a dark, dangerous cult of personality that fertilizes hate, violence and corruption.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am Pedro in Arlington:

And obviously don't vote IN a single person with an R by the name. Not even the lovely R candidate for governor who promised to walk on the face of the current governor while wearing golf shoes. Oh, but they don't encourage violence with their words.

Oh, goodness, no words, Doug. <3
Avatar 9:42am ausmanx:

i'm afraid nachum was the reason i stopped donating to FMU for a while. he broadcast some of the most appalling IDF propaganda i'd ever heard and i couldn't donate to an organisation that let that go to air. i'm afraid i'm glad he's gone. he's entitled to his views, but until there was at least a contrary spokesperson given equal time, it was irresponsible. i've been to the OPT, i can't listen to that stuff.

Hi Doug! Your beautiful music is inspiring me in my job applying.
Avatar 10:30am still b/p:

I have disc of a different Sardinian Tenores team, and the notes say "the singing is characterized by the sounds of the natural landscape -- sheep bleating, cows bellowing, the wind hissing..." and the music is not written down but passed orally through the generations.
I picked up the disc at a live performance, and, yes, it was stirring and fantastic and hypnotic.

Doug, Got to be some Fado lurking out there.
