@chresti I do that sometimes too! Never enough WFMU, is there? With the new Sheena stream, I may have to play three on Friday afternoons. Yes, I could play archives, but I'm also a chat board regular.
Hi Neighbors! It's going to get noisy around here. I'm in the much publicized NY 19th congressional district, and Democratic candidate Delgado's party is around the corner from me.
FYI: Putting Carolina Reaper peppers in your chicken soup won't just drain your sinuses, but also your tear ducts. I feel temporarily better on that front.
I'm a huge fan of Google Earth - I love knowing that you can zoom in on some obscure spot on the earth, or island in the ocean, and see individual trees and rocks there.
@melinda Even though street view is much less comprehensive, it's still massive and peculiar! You can also see past Streetview drive-bys! And the automatically constructed 3d scenes can be hilarious parodies of the actual buildings!
The votes ARE NOT all in! The west coast has three more hours to kick ass and straighten out some of the misguided nonsense" the base" has plagued us with.
I think we need to get whoever it is that is stealing plasma from the sun to use their special vacuum hose to suck up all the morons in this country country.
Well, my county has gone blue (as per usual) in a sea of red, but our state house district is gerrymandered to make sure it stays red.
@Henry, have you played the Google Street game? It randomly drops you off somewhere and you get more points by the faster you guess and less moves it takes for you to guess where you are.
@ngh no, I haven't. I wanted to make a street view game called "Drive out of NYC" so you could practice finding the 3rd avenue bridge and various exits off the BQE.
Not bad, spodiodi! (that's the name of the game). I used to challenge friends online and usually get to w/in 12km in 5 mins (except when I was dropped in the middle of nowhere, Northern Australia.
that game reminds me that i used to imagine that if i was blindfolded and put somewhere i the woods where i have been before how long it'd take to know exactly where i am. (in some cases it would be almost instantaneous, i think)
As long as you can find signs, recognizable towns, recognizable natural features, you can get good results. It's when you're stuck w/ nothing it's almost impossible. (the side of the road they drive on helps a lot too).
sounds fun, I can spend a good hour on google earth and maps. I enjoy zooming in as close as possible. It's a great tool for house searching-seeing if it's next to a freeway or power lines
@spodiodi: Only if you're not playing against friends, otherwise, all is game. The best I ever got was 8m (and b/c a year before I was exploring the same town). My friend, she went, "how the bloody f*ck!*
i forgot that i paused my player before and i'm just hearing tirzah now and yes reminds me of Tricky... earlier today on Tony's show i mentioned that something reminded me of Tricky.
hmmm. Tricky day.
...but really -he's just another asshole. the blame falls upon those that have made such an arrangement possible. obviously a person in charge of elections shouldn't have the option to run for anything at all.
I've checked Politico for results in a few places but the percentage of precincts reporting thus far is tiny so all the close races could shift in either direction. I should just stop, my plan was to tune out but I gave in.
i never pay attention! i ask around the next day, or whenever i communicate personally with other people again. (sometimes i don't see other people for days at a time)
