@Phillippe: As a soup connoisseur, it's my favorite. But, have to ask my inl-aws in Mexico to send it to me as it's nearly impossible to find stateside (even the Mexis I meet at the tiendas here, have no idea what it is...

Avatar 12:50pm

@Phillipe: just 40km south of here, is where all of the race horses for the KY Derby etc are raised. So, they hire cheap illegal Central American labor to care for the equines. They have many Latino supermarkets, I've only found xuitlacoche at one, at it was terrible compared to what I get from Mexico (look for the canned variety).

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm

@wild neal Yeah, we'll be in the same leftover boat. My wife cooks the same amount for 4 as she does for 14. There are only 6 of us this year, so the tupperware is going to get a workout.

PB and NGH: Morphe is my street name from Bklyn.
My nom de plume is Otto Van Der Hout(dutch - Otto from the Woods) my other is Ekster (Dutch for Magpie) -2 years cleaning toilets/offices in Amsterdam.. Till Clay on Monday???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
Phillippe Bastille:

@NGH I invented Phillippe for a prank on some friends. Created a web site for his winery, married him off to a SF 49ers cheerleader, made him an email account, etc. Even printed some labels for his wine and put them on a couple bottles and sent them to one of my friends. While all that was going on, one of my contracts wouldn't permit us to use our real names for social media, so Phillippe proliferated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm

@Morphe Otto Van Der Hout is great!

Mine came to me in a random instant, and I rationalized it w/ my love of geography and history, and the need to not be associated w/ the south and for some pastoralness (didn't make sense then, still doesn't).

@Phillippe; (shite, you're correct, 18 years later....)
  1:33pm
Morphe:

Ekster was actually bestowed upon me beccause, even to this day, I find all types of stuff on the street - mostly while on the bike. My Dutch friends were struck by my sight (fading now at 57) and my fortune: money, watches gold/silver chains, lost toys - Magpies are known for finding/stealing
shiny objects. Hence Ekster Now -a -days - mobiles and wallets and right handed gloves people lose while getting out of taxis. I run a free of charge return service...
I do not accept rewards but people have gone out of their way to thank me.. That is too long a stories.. Tot Ziens..
