i took acid once, and it was not an enlightening experience. in fact i was on the fire escape of my office and was ready to fly because i was convinced i could. i could see every blood cell flowing through my veins. people talking to me had every word chopped up into individual syllables and rearranged into a tapestry of nonsense. once was enough exploration for me.

my trips were not as bad but i wish i would have known more what to expect -- i mean, with X (for me, at least) you KNOW that it is the drug's influence on you -- especially when you are coming down and experiencing that weird "depression" -- with LSD, EVERYTHING is amplified, especially anything "bad" that may be going on in your life
