I am not a fan of the presidency at all. The post itself is perverse, corrupt. Then there are the horrifying beasts who occupy it, like Bush. I'm sad he ever existed. But I can't say I'm glad he's gone. He might have done something useful, productive, salutary.
  12:24am
Jocelyn:

How can anyone hate broccoli? It's delicious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am
coelacanth∅:

I like even more the quiet version of It’s No Game at the end of the record. “To be insulted by these fascists,” Bowie shakes his head, “is so degrading.”

What an interesting backstory!
*
Gal Costa released her album India in 1973. This album was quite controversial in terms of the imagery she had used for her album art -- Costa wearing a thong while the back cover displayed her breasts. This resulted in the military dictatorship censoring her album cover since it was considered offensive to the “good manners” of the Brazilian society during this time. In this song and throughout the album, Gal embraced and explored her sexual identity. Often challenging the heterosexual norms in Brazilian culture. Interestingly, sometime in 1973 following the release of her album India, Gal performed with Maria Bethania and towards the end of their performance, they both embraced in a passionate kiss. India is written by Roberto Carlos and in this song, Gal plays with gender roles, refusing to change the gender of the woman who this song is about, even though the song was penned from a male perspective.
