	9:24am TDK60: One thing I like about Dave's show is, the sets are a shorter length, about 20 min. Some WFMU shows the sets last 45 m. -1 hr; I lose track of what was what. (In the days before the playlist/comments it was more a problem.) I prefer the 20-25 min set.

	9:28am Ike: Agreed, @TDK60! When I first started listening to FMU circa 1993-94, that was more of an issue. It was much easier to identify things Dave played than things other DJs with longer sets played, especially if they back-announced back-to-front instead of front-to-back. Back then, I think Dave posted his playlists to Usenet! Ha!

	9:35am sphere: Technology is still pretty amazing. I have WFMU blaring out through Apple TV into my flat-screen speakers.

	9:36am northguineahills: I dj w/ cassettes, but, yes, it's a PITA, as you have to pre-cue the track beforehand. (I used Minidiscs a few months ago).

	9:37am TDK60: I have a Japanese Panasonic blaster with cassette, radio, CD, and mini-CD. Never used the mini CDs, have several unused.

	9:38am Dave Mandl: I was a heavy minidisc user. They were also very popular in the UK at one time, more than in the US.
	9:38am panix user #10421: Coincidentally, a little bit ago, I looked at one of Dave's playlists that looked like that was from usenet... The first "new style" is from December 30, 2001. It's funny how primitive the year 2000 seems in some ways now. (I'm gonna tell Tony Coulter what you said about cassettes. JK, I'm not.)

	9:43am Ike: Another failed audio technology that's still sputtering along for the moment: HD radio. I have one of those. WQXR-105.9-HD2 (New Sounds radio) is not bad, but I'm sure 99.9% of listeners stream that on the Internet.
	9:44am TDK60: ..on that Japanese Panasonic, I couldn't record FMU shows onto mini-CD, as Japanese FM bandwith goes from 76 to 90! (I could record WBGO or WKCR shows.)
